If you take inflation into account as well as the IMAX 3d prices, then it really isn't that special. If you look at raw ticket sales, Titanic still sits at the top.

No, actually Gone with the Wind does, and Star Wars and The Sound of Music along with some others. At least as far as US and Canadian films go. Avatar sits at like 34th.
