Zip or Umod?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hi, I was wondering if there was a consensus about which is the preferred install - zip or umod? No difference?

UMOD for sure. The only reason there is a .zip one is because some people might have trouble getting the UMOD version to work. I on the other hand, never had any trouble with UMOD...

Thank you Gentlemen, I've had a LOT of fun with 2.75 but it's time to move on (finally have a computer with a little horsepower).

umod is the best (if not the most efficient) format for UT.
If you have problems :
Umod problems
(from mutator FAQ )

zip-files probably are useful for ppl with Macs or Linux ...

'setup'-type files (like SF used) are the worst possible method of installing anything for UT.
