Gamers Pulse reviewed Ubisoft's XIII, giving it their Editor's Choice award with a 41/50 score:

More so than any other first-person shooter game currently available, XIII has amazing style derived from its comic book source. Visually, the game is outstanding, tailoring the technique of cel-shading specifically to depict a moving comic book. Literally the game feels like a living comic book complete with old school onomatopoeia panning across the screen, thick lines outlining characters and objects, and story windows popping in and out to relay off-screen actions. Aurally, the music stands out as the game’ greatest asset. Fitting with the classy style of the visuals, XIII features a fabulous jazz-infused musical score. While the sound effects are somewhat standard, the voice acting follows more in suit with the quality of the music, tapping into top quality professional actors. From the game’s opening moments, its apparent that XIII has more style in its left analog stick than most games have in all of their disc.
