[WIP] Arctic Skaarj

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Kronos, since I'm not doing as advanced stuff as Hide you're not going to have any problem viewing it correctly. I've never had any complaints about shaders not working. So it's most likely that there won't be any problems ;)

I reworked the complete armor today and finished his armor. Now all I need to finish is his one hand, tail and tusks and then different versions of the armor. Shouldn't be such a big deal.

Here's the pics:




My plans for this guy is pretty simple. I will work out 4 versions.
A normal Arctic Skaarj warrior without mask or helmet.
Another Arctic Skaarj warrior just with helmet and a brighter armor.
A black haired higher ranking warrior with mask and without helmet. I will see if I can make some ornaments/tribals for his armor.
And finally the Royal version with the gold stribes on the armor and a Royal helmet(a gold rimmed version of the one he has now).

This one turned out really nice. Also like the idea for the 4 different versions, could make a complete team that way.

The 'normal' one get my vote - the mask just doesn't do it for me rex. I'll be looking forward to them though as they certainly look cool and very professional as always :)

So here's the deal teamcolors. Since I'm pretty blank how should I make them? I won't be changing the rims colors because it's not all of the skaarjs that have those. Feel free to paint on above pictures to illustrate if needed.

Are the trim on a seperate layer than the armor? If so I'd recolor the armore (nothing bright though). gonna be a tough one for teamskins though.

I actually don't like they way of changing his skin color for TC's. Feels unnatural though some colored tattoos might be an idea to assist armor coloring?

Will experiment a bit. Update later on.

EDIT:: Made tc's and I kinnda like this style. Since imageshacks main site apparently is down ATM I'll just attach the pic.
EDIT2:: I've finshed it with tc's as shown in attachments. 4 TC's all with shaders. Helmet and masked versions are shaded as well. Portraits are done as well. All I need to do now is make some bio's for them, but I frankly have no clue of how they entered the tournaments.

Another reason ****** sucks. FYI the next version of UTComp will support shaded skins that include texture fallback material ;) Imho skins without shaders tend to be really dull and generally crap :)

Nice the way you've done the TCs rex. For me it's not bright enough to be that easily recognizable in game and you're gonna' get the "TCs are too dark" comments but it's v. nice nonetheless. Personally I don't mind darker TCs at all :)
