I was a bit upset at my recent snowstorm experience when I wrote that.
There's a commercial center not far from here where the pile of snow is over 3 story high. We have so much snow here this year that we won't probably get rid of it until juin :s

Montreal was pretty bad but the snowstorm before christmas hit us hard. Toronto got 50 cm... that's insane.,
Heh I remember skating in februari. That hasn't happened in what... the past 15 years or something? It really isn't the worst winter ever, unless you rate it in terms of being winter-ish. In that case it's the worst winter ever since it sucks so bad at doing what winter is supposed to be all about, namely hobo's freezing to death and natural ice skating.

While walking to work this morning, the perfect image came to me. It's exactly like taking a gel icepack (you know, those flexible ones you put on sprains and other similar wounds) directly out of the freezer and put it directly on your face for one hour. That's pretty much how winter feels.
I would just like a couple of weeks of snow. My students are getting quite worried about their finals in the spring, since our high school system went through a total curriculum revamp with their year. But I know that the sh*t will hit the fan, and there is pretty much nothing we can do to prepare for it. So I bother about the problems I know about instead of the ones that are undefined clouds on the horizon.
It's suprising that the first post was about people who feel bad-, or experience depression this particular winter. Nothing to do with the temperature at all it seemed to me, just about the winter period and feeling lousy. Anyway, this thread is now all about happy feelings in wintertime. Bah, i'm off.

I suppose the closest thing to snow we have here is rain, and up until 2 months ago we hadn't had anything decent for years, now most of Queensland and northern New South Wales as flooded, oh well, happy days are sure to come, hopefully we'll have able to have decent showers or actually have some sort of watered garden sometime soon, maybe i'll even get to wash the car!
well usually you get the flu when it isnt -10 but more like when it is hovering in the 5 degree area.
