I'd agree about Keven Spacey, dOOd has range. Most other actors it's like "there's so-n-so" and they're the same in nearly every role they portray.

It's really hard to nail it down to just one actor. I'm leaning toward Robert De Niro, because he's done successful dramas, action flicks, comedy, etc.

I love Spacey, I really do. He rocks. But most of the time I can't help but feel he is playing "Kevin Spacey". Same with Samuel Jackson.

i have to agree, that in recent times, the best all round actor has got to be gene hackman, from "bonnie and clyde" to "the conversation", i cann't think of anyone better.and i think "the conversation" was harrison ford's first real movie, and he hasn't done one since
al pachino in "dog day afternoon" was a classic
"kiss me, i like kiss when i'm being f@#@ed"

And this thread is outa my realm of knowing who I think is the best.I's kinda not a fair question sort of ,because some good actors get messed up roles.

I would have to say probably the top 5 or 10 from startrek, the very first ones, or roles Clint Eastwood gets.
But I couldn't say, a lot of good actors.
