What's the past tense of ping?

i beleive it would be pinged,
because you can say "i just pinged you and god 45"
you could do that with the other samples you gave, but it sounds messed up

I would say it is pinged, but I'm not a pro in english grammar, so don't rely on this.
Or perhaps it is Ping - Pong don't know.

Since 'ping' is a relatively modern word, it probably isn't subject to the weird conjugations of the dark ages (i.e. sing-sang, ring-rang, bring-uhm, never mind that one.) I would have to go with 'pinged'.

Pingded sounds good to me, But it could be pung, but I've never actually heard anyone say it.

actually i think it should be pong with the motley crue dots over the "o" - pronounced oomlaut i think (but definitely not spelled that way).

Pong and pung sound like terms in some Chinese game. Pinged gets my vote.

Anyway, if it's going to be 'pung', why not 'pought'?

there is also an entry for 'ping' in the internet sense, but no past tense for it..

Probably because 'ping' in an internet sense is most often used as a noun (Your ping is 211), rather than 'to ping'
