What v. of Real Targets is SG's server running?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

To add to this mismatch conversation;
Last night i connected to GD , i downloaded some camo files, then i got a dtas mismatch.
I quit inf, deleted infdtas, went to my cache and renamed the camo files and moved them to textures/camos folder.
I restart inf, connect to GD and got mismatch for that SAME camo!?!

So i quit inf, deleted the camos and could connect again. (downloading the camos again)

Steps for converting your cache files into the correct files, in a'tarded terminology ;P

1: Open your UT main directory, this is usually under the MY COMPUTER button, open it wherever it is on your system.

2:Open the file folder named CACHE

3:Find the CACHE.INI file, open that.

4:Now you should have 2 windows open, the actual CACHE.INI and the CACHE folder with the .UXX files that are downloaded from the servers.

5:The .UXX files look like this: 1CC76ED84AD7C54F73E5A3BF62328C5F.uxx

6:In the CACHE.INI you have open there is a list of files that look like this : 1CC76ED84AD7C54F73E5A3BF62328C5F=complexB.utx

7:Highlight the latter part of the file description that is displayed in the CACHE.INI, RIGHT CLICK, select COPY of only thre highlighted part{ie the files true name}

8: Find the same number/letter identification in the CACHE folder, highlight, RIGHT CLICK on it, select RENAME, PASTE, this will change the name of the file from the .UXX to whatever the file is supposed to be named, in the case above, i changed the .UXX file in my cache to its true form, which is a .UTX file, after you've changed the name, hit ENTER, then it should change it to the correct file extension.

9: I then remove these renamed files to my desktop{or you can use a new folder you created as well}.

10:Close all the windows, then reopen the UT main directory, place all the new files you have changed from your cache to thier corresponding folders.

.UTX-TEXTURES
.UMX-MUSIC
.U-SYSTEM
.UNR-MAPS
.UAX-SOUNDS

so in the above mentioned case, the complexB.utx, i would place in the TEXTURES folder, please remember all .U files always go into the main UT SYSTEM directory, most of the time all the other files go into the UT\INFILTRATION subdirectories.

Any questions or was that clear enough?

Or simply, use the UT Cache Extractor

DOes that ALL for you except for the .u... you will have to move them in the system directory. This is a procedure TO AVOID MISSMATCHES! ;)

EDIT: Btw, at your request, I will give a try at renaming the next version of RT upon release. If I find it's too much trouble then (because I had some troubles when I ported bulletsounds4) that will be the last numbered version.

in urban Michigan(mostly)
newfangled kids and your electronic tools...
(unlike my oldskool filesystems and managers, like those arent "tools" or something :rolleyes: )

once, i too was young and lazy. DL'ed the UT Cache Extractor, pressed a button and accidentally deleted all of my cache data. :mad:
that'll teach me to not RTFM & assume the program wont do any harm..

converting the cache manually is alot safer then using a tool and it really isnt that hard. its basic computer using skills we should all have... cut 'n' paste, renaming files, browsing folders, etc.

after the UTCE fiasco of '04 i quit being lazy (mostly ;)) and went back to converting the cache by hand.
