What OS do you use?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

What OS do you use to play INF on?

Since you're discussing mice. I'm in the market for a new one and the MX510 sounds ok. So far i've used it a few times at work and couln't find anything i didn't like. I was happy to see it could handle fast movement too.
Should i get it or does someone have a better suggestion?

Yeah, we are slightly offtopic ;)

I tried various mice this year and I finally stick with the MX510. Highest resolution for optical mice, 10 freely configurable triggers, 3 years warranty, decent ergonomics and fair price.

Together with a rough glass mousepad I'm absolutely happy.

In case you prefer wireless (which I don't ) the new MX1000 is probably the best choice. For lefthanded ones the MX310 is worth a look.

I would expect a succeder of the MX510 (Logitech's gamers mouse) with the new laser sensor, improved precision and a four direction wheel by the end of the year. If you're not in a hurry it might be worth waiting.

... and in case you ask: no I don't get paid by Logitech :)
In fact I had a MS mouse before but sensor and button quality isn't up to par, the newest drivers don't allow full customization, warranty is shorter and I don't feel like filling Bill Gates pockets :D

What Nukeproof said about the MX510. I'm very satisfied with it, and can't see any other mouse worth considering, that is, if you're planning to use it for gaming and you don't want a cordless one.
Only drawback for me is it's a bit light though, but I guess it's a matter of taste.

If you cannot configure the sideways function of the wheel then you cannot have as many as the MX500, right? MX500 has:

Left button
Right button
Middle Button
Mousewheel Up
Mousewheel Down
Application Button
Scroll Up Button
Scroll Down Button
Thumb Button 1
Thumb Button 1

That is a total of 10 functions that are programmable.

This new mouse has:

Left Button
Right Button
Middle Button
Mousewheel Left (Not programmable)
Mousewheel Right (Not programmable)
Back Button
Forward Button
Application Button
Scroll Up Button
Scroll Down Button

So the new mouse doesn't have mousewheel up or mousewheel down? What does it do, predict your personal opinion on which direction this document should scroll?

Further OT...
Why not a tackball ;)
If you really want a lot of programmible buttons get one of those uber CAD trackballs, but I think the gyroscopic motions would really throw you off (not to mention the $500-700 price tag :D)
