what exactly does heaven have to offer?

The Egyptians believed that to get to the afterlife they would have to pass through a dangerous place with perils such as monsters, boiling lakes, fires and particularly nasty snakes that spat out poison.
These evils could be overcome by the right spells and the Egyptians often wrote down the spells on paper and left them in or near the coffin. If they overcame the evils they would reach the gates of Yaru (the Egyptian afterlife) and meet their friends again.
But first they had to pass the greatest test of all in the Hall of Two Truths. This test involved weighing the heart, the only organ which had been left in the body. The heart was placed on one side of a balance and in the other side was placed the Feather of Truth: the Feather of Truth held all the lies and sins of their past life. The 3 great gods, Osiris, Anubis and Thoth, decided the result of the weighing.
If the heart passed the test then the dead person was allowed to enter the gates of Yaru but if the heart failed the test then it was eaten by a terrifying monster known as the devourer. The devourer was part crocodile, part hippopotamus and part lion and once it had eaten a heart the dead person was gone for ever.

You don't have to believe in heaven and/or hell. A lot of religious people do believe in God, but not in heaven and hell. You are free to believe anything you want. :)

I, myself, believe that after I die, I will reach a place where I can humpz0r every woman I want and eat pizza all day. :con: :D

What the hell am I doing in this forum?!

IMO....Heaven is what you want to make it....
I don`t believe your memory is wiped clean....how would you explain people who have had near death instances and have been met by family members who passed before them.

Something to consider Luci...
maybe you are not going to heaven/hell because you don't want to accept either...

maybe there is a special place for those of us who don't belive/don't want to belive..

I still have my doubts about many thing "godwise".. but I would suggest that you read
On A Pale Hourse
by Peirs Anthony
it deal with the entire aspect of Death itself..
there is one part in the book that will haunt me til I die...
there is a man who has commited sucide and DEATH has come to claim he.. well DEATH being a new DEATH (you have to read the book to understand THAT), has a brief talk with the man.. the man basically says that "heaven would be hell, I want there to be nothing".. well DEATH knows that the man is wrong.. being DEATH and all.. but when the man finally dies... He (DEATH) reaches into the mans body to gather his soul.. but as he is preparing it for transport.. the soul falls to pieces.. DEATH thinks.. (basically).. well he got what he wanted...

It was a VERY moving/disturbing book...and it prompted me to read the entire series.. and those books have helped me with my way of thinking about "life"
LMK if you read it

i doubt heaven would be anything like what the bible says.

if it does exist, i think it will just be a place where you could just do stuff, have a good time, enjoy urself (in a nonsinful way) and just chill...............forever. I'm sure god would allow life size recreations of UT CTF. There is no harm in acting it out if your immortal eh?:D
