But the capital letters allow for that extra couple of SHIFT button keystrokes to boost your apparent Intelligence Quotient even further. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

See? Someone will read this and say "Wow, Mr. T is a genious! Look at all those keystrokes he used!"

Mr. T, the truth is, I'm a recovering CounterStrike player...I was captured by the evil collection of counterstrike players, known as the CTorg...

"We are the CTorg,
You will be ASSimilated(huh huh! he said ass!)
Resistunce if footile..frutile.. flootile...
Ah forget it"

Since the CTorg's intelligence is centered in their rear end, their version of the borg queen is essentially known as the
"Bitch Ass". Every time we thought we killed the Bitch Ass, another Bitch Ass would appear and take over. Watch yourself, or the CTorg will ASSimilate you!

hmm,
I really like abbreviations, but they should have sense. IQ is commonly known and easily understandable under moust conditions.
The 4 and u story is a bit different, especially if you're not used to English - me for example; in Austria we talk German.
T42 is therefore a very misunderstandable term. Could be a tank, or an invitation to drink tea with another person..
Any kind of military abbrev. is something I surely understand..
like HARM, SLAP, SLAM, SAM, MBT, IFV, ICV, APC, APSFDS, APHEIT, F/A-18C etc..

Well, working in government contracting for the past four years has taught me to utterly despise abbreviations/acronyms at first.
Do I use them? Yes.
Do I accept them? Yes.
Do I know what they all stand for? Hell no.
Do I enjoy being utterly confused during 90% of the conversations I partake in, for the first two years of employment? No.
Do I enjoy being utterly confused during 50% of the conversations I partake in, for the next two years of employment? No.
Do I think using them makes you appear to have a higher/lower intelligence quotient? No.
Do I think that it makes an individual appear more Knowledgeable about a certian area being discussed? Not by itself.
Do I think it's ridiculous that people expect you to understand a single sentence they are blabbering to you, when they are using abbreviations for every other word they say, especially when they know perfectly well you are incapable of decifering these acronyms, due to the fact that you have approximately zero experience using them? Yes.
Is this annoying you? Probably.
