The Intel core i7 2600K @ 4.6Ghz is still as fast or faster than all that came before or after. My OC settings on each of my 2600K boxes is the same.
Multiplier - 47, Base Clock - 98, Vcc - 1.385v. -> Math = 4.606 Ghz. CPUz gives 4.607 GHz on my win7 pro box. Very easy to OC this chip.
I had to reduce the base clock from 100 to 98 to go above a Multiplier of 42. I decided to stop at a multiplier of 47 because I didn't want to increase the Vcc any higher. I heard 1.4v is the red line line with these chips.

Here is some good advise for all newwer players. First of all, don't grab the orb unless its on the deck and your at a node. The orb is alot of work, leave it to the more experienced players. You need to work on the other stuff first. Defending and attacking nodes with carz and on foot is basic training. That's how you "meet the players". Usually with rockets, flak and shock. That's how you improve.

You can learn alot from waching the youtube vids to learn tactics and strats. You can spec players to learn what they do. But, you need to play to improve on foot. You should always warm up with an offline DM match or two before going online. Oh, yea, be prepared to get owned. There will be players that seem to kill you every time you meet. Chances are, your skill will improve rapidely, even if you die alot.

Be prepared to invest a few months to improve. DM is the most important skill to have. Play offline, choose a skill level such that you do not win, and end up at or near the bottom.
