Warsow - The FPS Internet Gem

Just browsing the internet, I came up with this little gem: http://www.warsow.net/

Yes, it is spelled Warsow.

It has been out for a while, I will admit that. However, it is a standalone game. Easy to pick up and play. Reminds me a LOT of quakeworld/cmpa. It is based of the Qfusion (loosly based Q2) engine, and uses a physics that resembles quakeworld (or painkiller). It's a free standalone release. It's in it's alpha state right now, but it looks and feels pretty awesome. There is a movie to show off the physics engine. I suggest you watch THIS before you play, or you might not be able to see the full potential of the game.

The video shows interesting tricks, physics, some weapons fire, but shows nothing of actual game play.

The running around part looks like fun though. LOL

Sweet! I love these fast paced trick based shooters. I've seen a few free things similar to this and this type of gameplay beats 99% of the stuff out there now. I'd love to see some professional dev team make a whole game out of this. Reminds me of UT EO.

I played this online at about 120 ping. Not bad felt kind of like a low budget cel-shaded Q3.

1v1ed this with a couple of my friends on a LAN. It rocks pretty hard (for a free game). I love the cell shading. Makes it look different than any other shooter out there. With the right maps, you could have some very good frag sessions.

The graphics look cartoony, so they don't look outdated. Cool game.
