No, it isnt?
Then why is it so hard to find populated non-vehicle CTF servers? There's far more activity for this game type in UT99, which is a sad indictment of UT3.

I was working on a remake of Pussywhipped. It's been played in 5v5 pug matches before. It's a fast-paced clan ladder-grade map that would have been a hit had it been released in 2000 and not 2006. You can find screenshots here:

The one in the sig, DagnysBigAssMap-V2, was on the world's most popular regular weapons custom map CTF server and survived being voted off for over a year (which is no small feat). It has been played in 5v5 pug matches and often resulted in good games that went into OT ending with scores of 3-2 or 4-3. You can find screenshots here:

Well, I'm currently working on beta 2 of DM-Shrapnel
Your sig picture doesn't do your map justice. It is much nicer in the screen shots you linked to.
I really think you should get back to work on your project.
As far as CTF being dead I think that is a fallacy. I think the people that play CTF are dedicated and people usually choose a game type and stick to it. I still play CTF every weekend (practically). I think that the player count is down. It is really hard to keep numbers like UT99 had with all the new games and platforms that are out. I do think UT will always have it followers/die hard fans (especially since you can add user content). I think UT has a huge cult following.
ArcticStronghold would make a killer Warfare/VCTF map. I think someone from EPic was working on it but there hasn't been word of it. Shame...
I have betas of DM-DeathFan and DM-Fith from Unreal botmatch if anyone is interested. Some people remember them from UT99 because they would run with an extension change. I also have a SpaceNoxx. I've been dealing with a move and house remodel but hope to take these final in the next couple of months.

This is Bret Hart's version. I may be wrong, but I think Ionium is him? I dunno, he changed his name a lot. Fun map, don't try to break it and you won't have problems.

This is Sanchez's version. Personally, I prefer this one although it breaks from the arctic theme. I can't say I've played it recently, but he may have fixed the core advantage in the SE version.

This map isn't as polished as I wanted it to be, but I realized the community was shrinking to the point that I no longer cared to put the time into it. Some pathing bugs and whatnot, but it works pretty well.

I made this map as a joke and to play with kismet/matinee. It will never be finished as the community is dead (enough that I don't care to work on maps). Nonetheless, it's good for a laugh if you played the original.
I realize this thread isn't about Warfare, but some people might be interested so why not?
Thanks for saying so.
Is the cult following that large? If you add up the number of people who play UT99, UT 2004, and UT3 regularly, online, combined, we would have what, perhaps 3000 people distributed over three games? It's kind of sad, but I really don't think the number of people playing UT--any of the UTs--is all that great. In the UT99 PUG CTF pug community, for example, a number of people have disappeared in the past year.
Some links of UT99 remakes don't work =(
Have to look out for maps for which the download links are no longer working. Perhaps PM the authors if possible...
