Have you tried to update on a clean install, without other modifications?

What kind of computer do you have?

Please use the edit function so you don't have to post several messages.

You run out of memory, this is maybe caused by the mods you have. Uninstall UT3 and delete all mods from My Documents and UT3. Install the game. Update to v2.1 and install Titan pack.

You can tweak the game so it will run smoother and won't crash by editing the ini-files, there are tutorials for that too I suppose. You should be able to get to main menu.

Not sure if it's the same problem as jonne but I'm getting a very bizarre BSOD after UT3 hangs up on me. The only work around I've found so far is to delete my local .ini files in My Documents, but the crash happens the next time I launch the game.

I suspect it's driver related since I wasn't getting this problem before with the Audigy 2 drivers that shipped with the Windows 7 RC and the initial Windows 7 Daniel_K Audigy support pack. However, I've seen this problem with the 2.0 and 3.1 versions of the Daniel_K Creative Audigy support pack. No other game is behaving like this (BioShock hasn't done this nor have TF2 or L4D). The main reason I've upgraded the audio drivers is because the older driver packs cause the audio to stutter at times when things get busy on screen.

Essentially as soon as I start a level I have about 10-15 seconds of play before everything grinds to a near halt and I get this electronic whining coming from the speakers.

I've updated DirectX 9.0c and OpenAL today, didn't fix the problem. I'm guessing there's something in the My Documents .ini files that is pissing off the hardware but I haven't been able to find much on this issue.

System specs are in my signature. Only background processes running are Steam, AVG and XFire. OS is Windows 7 RC 64-bit.

So any thoughts?

There wasn't thing in the launch.log aside from a ton of "null" spam according to notepad++. Last item in the logs was noting the intro movies played successfully.

However, out of curiosity I exited XFire and didn't have any trouble. I'll try again tomorrow and see if that's the key here.

EDIT: Disregard, upon further research it appears that the game crashes if it starts with Hardware OpenAL enabled.
