And I got really boned on the RAM, well 512M-bytes of it anyway the rest I got at BestBuy.

From my understanding ... a 6800GT 256mb or Ultra will be able to play on high settings at 1024x768 (maybe 1280x1024 with a good CPU).

From my understanding a X800 XL 256 is pretty much equal to a 6800GT 256 , at least thats what I see in benchmarks..

I would think the big problem for Kantham would be the 128 meg of video memory.

I just orderd a new graphics card, a XFX 6600GT 256mb AGP, for only NZ$277.25(US$188.20), should be ariving tomorow.:)
The comp Im going to put it in has P4 2.8ghz HT, 1gig of DDR333 ram, 80gig 7200rpm HD
Hopefully I'll be able to run some new games, at the moment with my Geforce 4 I get an average of 2fps in FEAR

Ya .. 128mb is not going to cut it. As for the X800 XL vs. 6800GT it depends on the game. Both cards are extremely close and weather or not a game is optimized or not for nVidia or ATi will determine who wins that particular benchmark ;) BTW... you try 3dMark 06 yet??? It beats the sh!t out of your system! I scored 2581... which is pretty much what everyone was getting with my card. Even the 7800GTX 512mb in SLi I have only seen scores around 7800 or 8000 (not much higher). I think im finally going to go SLi when the G71 cores come out for nVidia (32 pipe goodness) :) Then I'll really be set for UT2k7 :D

ack.... at least the 2600+ is a barton core though... you could really OC the hell out of that CPU with a good HSF ;) As for the rest.... might take some cash :p

Well for just coming out that 2581 isnt a bad score, 3DMark is always ahead of its time. What CPU are you using, I hear it takes advatage of dual core, and that this version takes your CPU into account again like the good old days of 2001se, I got a 1648 on it but then I have an old 3200XP. Diego1203 was telling me that the cpu mark is limited to 2fps,mine said 0 then 1 every once in a while, kinda odd, he got a score over 4000, whore, LOL.

I have an XP2800+... but I have it majorly OC'ed to 2.6Ghz :) Ya.. on the CPU test I think I hit 1 FPS for a few seconds and it was 0 rest the time.. lol. I wish they would have made everything new.... but even so... it still looked really nice :) Duel core is defenetly my next move though!

hell, looks like ive found the source of my overheating problem, ive been running with teh outward facing side of the case off for the past 3 months due to overheating problems(insane crap in WC3 where it begins to lag from a maxed out processer) and it looks like ive found it, ya know, it realy realy REALY helps if the CPU fan intake is not 100% blocked by a caked on layer of dust, ya know, just a little... (im an idiot...)

EDIT: RAM dont exactly count, with all the virtual mem i got goin(well i had to kill some of it of cuz my HDD maxed out when I was backing up something.) I had like 6 or o gigs of virtual mem, dont eaxctly konw why...

virtual mem does not even come close to ram. Hard Drive access time compaired to ram is extremely SLOW. As a matter of fact... if you have enough ram (~4 gigs) its best to turn virtual ram completely off along with the windows swap file.
