Yeah those maps are good, especially VSys i like the lightning and how they have the model of the frag leader on that pedestal thing. EvilSwanky makes a couple other good maps as well.

I can't get my map folder to shrink to anything lower than 2 gigs.
Right now it's at 2.4 gigs again :-B

Mine's at 1.88GB atm.

And those screenshots aren't that bad, although madscientist you should just link to the Nalicity map reviews for those maps instead of having to go through all the trouble of attaching screenshots and such.

Well, i thought about it and it's time we toss some Assault maps up here, so here goes....

AS-Golgotha

as-golgothass0.jpg

This is a nice Assault map, nice and long. The bots defend to the death, first couple of times i couldn't even beat the map playing against bots. Lighting is good, archetecture is descent. The only problem i see is sniper spamming. But not with bots really.

Here's some other nice one's, bot supported of course, nice map design as well...

AS-Operationcertaindeath

AS-Submarinebase][

As-golgotha and "sniper spam"...

No, the bots won't bother that much. But you on the other hand. Hell, you can stop them from reaching the first objective by simply using the SR effectivily.
HS,HS,HS,HS.. rince, repeat. Makes the game very boring, so after I while I stopped doing that.

I'm sorry I contributed to peoples' big hard drives. :D Mine is at 2.5 gigs. (I beat you NeoNite!) It used to be 5 gigs though.

As-golgotha is a nice map. I haven't played any of the others before though.
I don't really want to link to the nalicity map reviews because sometimes the screenshots have the gamma way up. Besides, I like taking screenshots. :)

That's ok. I'm glad my UT map dir isn't that big anymore. Hell, the UT folder itself is almost 8 gigs again :-/ pfff... I need to slow down.
If I hadn't deleted all those other maps during these 4+ years I probably would've ended up with a 12 gig ut folder or more.
Hell, my online folder was 10 gigs at its max...

Crazy!

P.s.: How many screenshots have you taken :D ?

Well, this one should definitaly NOT go by unnoticed.
It's huge, it has multiple themes...

Lay-out consists out of many (wide) open areas, though.

But it's made by someone who's delivered some fine single player maps.
Hellscrag.

This map definitaly needs a lot of players.

DOM-TempoClasm

Thanks for the mention, NeoNite! Mr. Prophet is to review this map; I expect he'll have a thing or three to say about it!

Has anybody mentioned the Assault Bonus Pack? It's a nice repackaging job of several solid AS maps combined with tweaks & enhancements to the AS gametype.

No shots for you as there's no original content per se. It features such maps as AS-Bridge, the ColdSteel series, AS-Ballistic etc.

As-bridge, you know..

The author should've blocked that bridge. I mean, ... it's online play. I've seen this being done in an assault movie. 2 guys loading the impact hammer near the exit of the cave (start point). The third one walked up to them and they launched him on the bridge.
Bah..

Is that how to play assault? How boring.

As for botplay. Yeah, it's a nice map but they sure as hell need your guidance :O)
I've tested this a couple of times in bot only games, they attackers NEVER made it to the end and only ONCE to the bridge.
6 vs 6 iirc.

Nice map though.

Hellscrag, don't mention it. The map stands out. Couldn't ignore it.

DOM-TempoClasm is a very nice DOM map , considering that they are so few good DOM maps (too bad as this gametype is really interesting when playing with bots), i really like the visual used there.

My only low point with that map is that some of the wide area are way to large for being so "flat" and empty.

In my opinion it would have been a very lot better with some more objects in those areas (principally to break the huge empty line of sight and to give some cover), related to the theme of the map to not break the mood while enhancing the gameplay.

Aquacore and Area52 aren't bad. Area52 has a good atmosphere but it uses alot of repitious textures that can get old after awile. Also those blast doors are kind of annoying because they can take awhile to open and once they start closing you can't reactivate them until there fully closed. In short it ends up with people being trapped and alot of time being wasted.

It's not too bad though, the second one i didn't try actually, the screenshot you did post really didn't tell me much on what the level looks like or any of that.

I think the doors promote teamwork, which is what ctf is all about, in my opinion at least. :)

The second screenshot actually does tell what it looks like, the lighting at least, for the blue base. I can't really take just one screenshot to show that map because it twists and curves alot.

EDIT: Added some more screenshots of it in game. Maybe you can get a better sense of what the map is like.
