I was hopping someone would prove me wrong.....

A lot of the features of "DeathRace" can be found in AS Racemaps (disgusting things, no art to them at all), although we'd have our wacky vehicle and driving mechanics, and there'd me no shooting or hellbender sniping.

I dunno, it could potentially be better because we could make much prettier maps and put in some cool stuff (like volcanoes erupting, geysers spouting etc.) that you can't find in race maps (mainly because they're all a load of Static meshes made from BSP additions with (if your lucky) a random and pointless un-modified skybox from AS Mothership - oh and no real reason or plausibility for being there at all) and I am yet to see a race map which tops the beauty of any of the maps in UnWheel.

3] you need to stop the enemy from advancing
4] I know of 3-4 AS maps that do almost the same thing you're talking about, but ofcourse in AS you get wepons.

Not trying to rain on the party here, but UT2K4 has like 5-6 mods right out of the box. If you plan to make a new one, than your idea must be unique to the game. Like UW is to UT2K4.

You are probably right about this, that this sounds like an Assault map, with all your points set up like this.

I am not going to make this because of the lack of knowledgement to unreal modding. I am presenting this idea to the Unwheel team to use in good faith. I would love to see a good death map theme to unwheel. Where you really battle it out in teams to head for one victory. If the tracks are hard. Wicked hard. And still have a ballance where you can respawn a bit more forward on the tracks and not always in be beginning.
I think we have a winner here! Or atleast a thing to test out to see if the public wants it.
Perhaps it should be limited to sertian vehicles. I would see it hard for a bus, or even a motorcycle to drive on these tracks.

But yes, You are probably right about it to be an AS gametype.

The motorcycle has wicked speed and air time, but crap steering, best advice for pros is to master the turning of it using the handbrake (default space)

What if it was made into a demolition type mod? Most of the rules that have been stated here would still apply, but you have a time limit. You don't spawn in a car, but on foot.
You have to get a car at your base, or diffrent spawn points in the map and can't "highjack" a car. If you push all the enemies cars off the map, or destroy them (not sure how, ramming them i guess), you win.
Or your team would only get new cars at their base, and if the opposing team has over run your base and pushed all your cars off the map you loose.
Almost like a KOTH meets Roller Derby, with the sick maps dMb was talking about. The better a team is doing, the fewer cars spawn at the oppoising base.

It would be nice if we could all sit down together and talk this through ;) I think that the diffrent ideas we all have could be melded into 1 mod/mutator that would be awsume ;)

What if you blend your ideas in here, and put them on to a race where you start off outside the car, you have to grab a car, and you can damage other cars. When you die you have to spawn again (either on the tracks, or on the beginning) I do not like Time-based fights, because you would have to easy maps then.
If you have a timelimit of 20 minuts, the track must be hard so first-time drivers can not handle it at all. Experienced drivers will manage okay, but you still can get knoked down.
I am imagening an assault meets raceing.

Yeah, that's why I put it KOTH meets Roller Durby. It would be kindda' like a team KOTH, but a bit more agressive.
I can't remember the name of the map (I think "Suspention"), but you have a KOTH map that if made bigger might be a good map for this idea.
Midnight Air with a few modifications would be good too.
1) Rebuild the map so it's not a loop, and has a base at either end
2) Make the road way wider, and make the guard rails low enough so it's possable to push cars over, but still high enough that you don't accedently drive off the map.
3) Make the mod/mutator so I win every match :D
