UE2 - UT2kX UnrealED wont show 'properties'?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hey,

Im a first year Computing Student who has been given the task of creating a level using the Unreal editor that comes with UT2004.

Now, im getting along ok with my level, it all looks fancy enough but for some unknown reason I cannot get hardly any 'properties' to show.

For example, if I insert a light I can no longer select the lightbulb and bring up the light properties box. I am trying to double left click it, and right click and select 'properties'.

I cannot also do this with a path node, pawns, basically anything.

I can get the actor properties, surface properties and level properties from the 'View' dropdown.

Ive Googled like crazy, the only thing I have found is "press Alt, press down, that will work"...it doesnt :(

Im getting very close to the hand in date of my assignment, im desperate. Ive re-installed the game twice now, to no avail.

Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Cris

Alt+Space to open the system menu of the props window with the Move command should work. There's also the option of messing with the INI to manually reposition the property window. If reinstalling the game once doesn't help, reinstalling a second time won't change anything.

Hi Wormbo,

I have tried the Alt+Space method, hasnt worked for me :(
I have also read the sticky about deleting the .ini files but that seems abit too complex for something that only started to happen about an hour ago..yet ive been working on my level for over 5 hours now :(

Any more ideas?

Thanks :)

Hi Wormbo (again!)

Ive just figured it out :S lol

I went and hide the taskbar, the properties box was hidden behind the taskbar!

Thanks for all your help so far
