seems like only yesterday there was a post about unreal turning 9... time goes too quickly.
unreal 1 to this day still remains one of my all time favourite single player fps games. unfortunately i wasnt around in time to play it multiplayer.
it had its flaws like any game, but it is one of the most atmospheric and beautiful games ever made.

I have completed Unreal only in February this year. I'm so late, but the game impressed me.

i got into unreal pretty late so i already had to find a way to slow my computer down to be able to play it. but once that was done i couldn't stop playing. this game holds a very special fascination for me. one of the best moments in my gaming history was stepping out onto the planet surface with all those mountains, the beautiful sky... it's just a really cool game world in a way that only a few other games really achieved imo.
and i'm still waiting for a REAL sequel as well

With Epic taking over about a billion companies, its high time we saw another Unreal SP game... Perhaps it could be a remake or even a sequel set on Na Pali or in the same universe.
Whatever they decide to do, it needs to be a game with the same fundamental spirit as Unreal! That means open exploration, being marooned on an alien world that is uncanny, not like earth.
Even if microsoft published it, that would be fine because atleast they would do a good job of hyping it.

I know I am. At this point 10 years ago, I didn't know about Unreal. I didn't subscribe to any gaming mags and I'd never heard about it.
That summer I got a new PC (P2 400) and my dad borrowed some games from a friend of his. This included Diablo, Quake 2 and a couple others. I played Unreal last because the CD art looked crappy.
Little did I know that bland gray disc with the funny yellow logo and the oddly polygonal titan was going to change my life.
