Hi all, as you can see this is my first post here.

I've recently gotten back into playing Unreal after I found Unreal Gold for $3.99 at ebgames.com. It's still my favorite game of all time, no doubt about it. I listen to the music all the time, either in Windows Media Player, or even in my car (I've converted the tracks to MP3 format). The true sign of an Unreal geek, no? :D

Anyways, I've been trying to find the Unreal Soundtrack CD that was released around the same time the game was back in 1998, but I can't find it anywhere. Searches on google and ebay have yielded nothing - and I even emailed Straylight Productions asking them for help, but I have not yet gotten a response. Of course since I have converted all the tracks from the game into MP3 format, I don't *need* to have the CD, but I just think it would be a cool thing to have/collect. :)

Yesterday I thought I had a breakthrough, when I was searching online, and found that one of the Unreal Strategy Guides (the one released by GW Press) came with an Unreal Soundtrack CD. I noticed there were a few of these for sale on ebay with the CD included, for $5 or so. However upon closer inspection, it appears that this particular CD only has 13 tracks instead of the 20 that seem to have come on the original soundtrack. I'll probably still go ahead and buy that one anyway, just to have it.

In any case, is there anyone here who knows how or where I could find the elusive Soundtrack CD? I'd much appreciate any info.

Thanks.

A soundtrack cd, nice nice :B
I got all tracks listed in an modplugplayer list. Combined with ut tunes it's up to 172 now.

Michiel made very nice music. Especially botmca9, the music for dm-phobos.

I was under the impression that the original soundtrack had 20 tracks...but as I haven't actually been able to get a copy for myself, I'm really not sure. :)

Thanks synth....are there any other tracks on the CD that differ from in-game music?

Off the top of my head, I believe 'Main Title' and 'End Title' are reversed from what they are in the game (Main Title on the CD is the Return to Na Pali theme, and End Title is "Unreal Main Title" - or UTend.umx....I think).

Other than that, I don't really think any of the music is much different at all...the tracks on the CD are shorter than in-game, of course (it's only a 62 minute CD); but other than that, it seems like the CD tracks have been processed a bit more, perhaps with reverb effects or something.

I'm actually listening to the CD again right now, so I'll update my post if I find anything else different. ;)

The Music CD has only the base music themes and shortened a bit or faded out, and do not have the "tween" tunes or the emotion tunes used ingame.

The UMX tunes have other tunes embedded in them controlled by the game
for when you encounter a creature or whatever.

The dance mix I havent seen anywhere yet except in maybe one of the unreal movies other than on the CD, wish I could find the tracker file of it if it was anywhere...
