Unreal Assault on PS2?

A thread on the Atari forums links to a page on Amazon.de showing details of a PS2 title called 'Unreal Assault' due for a September 23rd release. Further digging reveals a somewhat sparse Unreal Assault 'product information' page on Atari Australia's website, showing that the game is an Atari-published first-person shooter.

The 'Unreal Assault' name also popped up in May 2003 when a French gaming magazine leaked an Atari release schedule showing dates for Unreal 2 Xbox, UT2004 (at the time unannounced) and a third title, Unreal Assault for the PS2. At the time this leaked information was quickly removed from most sites by Atari stormtroopers.

PS2's suck save your self the time and buy an X-box. I bet that the time you will waste waiting for the game to load for the first time. if you had it on X-Box you could have conqured it already

so let me get this straight, ps2 sucks because of what? please xbox isn't better than ps2, or gamecube, and neither is ps2 to xbox and viceversa, the strengths of all the 3 consoles cancel their weaknesses out don't you know? remember power does not neceserally means greatness , btw I just joined to reply to this message.

Why are so many people anti-PS2? It's makes absolutely no sense to me. Would someone please explain why I should like the XBOX more than my PS2??

Oh, and even though I don't play shooters anymore, I hope that if the rumors are true, Unreal Assault proves to be a great game.

i think the engine woudl run fine on PS2... they would jsut need to tone down the poly count... the PS2 may not have the power of an XBox or GameCube... buts its still a pretty powerful little bugger...

PS2 DOES have good games - SOCOM II, Gran Turismo 4 (the graphics are amazing), Metal Gear Solid 3, and more games such as Killzone (which has decent graphics).

Graphics don't always make the game. Sure Xbox has better graphics, but it wouldn't make any Unreal game crapper on PS2.

I got a PS2 havent got an X-BOX but i wont be buying Unreal Assualt tho. for me i dont like FPS games on consoles. I played Unreal Championship on the XBOX and didn't like it. Why? Because my PC had a much better interface and the graphics ingame where a bit sucky.

However i did like Halo on XBOX, but that was because i only played it CO-OP

It should be the Engine Build 829 for consoles. At least the old UDN and the Secret Level UDN have ahd information about it.

Actually, at one point (then) EpicMegaGames was going to do an N64 port of Unreal.
