Unreal and Tribes Community?

Hello!
I see a lot XMP players comes from the Tribes community! So last weekend I bought Tribes1&2 and Starsiege! And I really must say XMP is a little bit like Tribes!

Now I wonder whow much people come from The Tribes Community! I guess 80% are from the Unreal Community and up to 20% Tribes Community.

What do u think?

Burnout - it's also available on cd with a computer gaming magazine. But yeah, i wouldn't see anything special about those games since they said "it's improved". mostlikely just added a few maps and mod and scripts.

But yeah, I came from the Tribes 1 & 2 Community. Known under this name.

Tribes Vengence won't be coming out until November or December. Not any time soon.

WTF is Tribes? WTF is Unreal? Is Unreal the piece of crap that comes with XMP? I haven't been online gaming much since the glory days of Q2! But what was that about free games? Tribes 1 and 2 free? I LOVE FREE!

It's merely a conicidence I ended up here... this is my only Unreal game, and I got U2 before XMP was even in the planning stages. =p

Same here as Harte.
After Quake II, I thought I had enough online FPS for life. Until XMP came out that is.

oh and Tribes for free, that's cool. Maybe I'll give that a try. First time I heard about it, my colleague was talking about some cheats he got and he found it funny to cheat on other players. I thought what a jerk and stayed away from that game.

there aren't cheats for tribes. there are scripts and what not tho, if you consider those cheats. It's not really cheats if people give the scripts and such out. kinda like... zoom hud which lets you zoom in 1000 times, changing the layout of your hud, renagades has mod weapon and new weapons and all sorts of stuff, voice packs, taunt packs.

Only thing tribes does not have is auto aim because the script is so tedious. There is no aimbot because it won't work with any tribes games.

So I am not sure what you mean by cheating if everyone has modified thier stuff.

Actually, there was an "aimbot" for Tribes, which was widely distributed among all the low-lifes of Tribes... it was a short script that spun you in circles non-stop, and the readme told you if you didn't have A, B, C, and X setup correctly in your .dll's it wouldn't be able to lock on to a target, and thus just spin in circles. Heh... wonder how many n00bs messed up their games by trying to edit those .dll's for their precious "cheat".

I have never played Tribes and have absolutely no idea what it is. Infact, the first time I've heard the name was when I first started getting involved here.

If it's as good as XMP, then it's worth a look.

Think, "Grandfather of XMP". Slower paced, and relies alot more on physics and moving than aim, but still very similar.

also, for those that love deathmatch. it also has that as well.

Kinda funny how tribes had energy at thier bases in order to keep your inventory stations running and other things as well.

Then here is xmp with almost the same exact stuff tribes has. only thing different is that you can't fly. tribes has jet packs and maps are lot larger because you fly and have flying vehicles as well. I think if xmp dies. everyone will go towards tribes.
