Sony are pricks anyway (well their record label is anyway, I think they should move to a metal friendly label, and if the album isn't going to be metal, I'm buying the next Meshuggah album, and I do agree on Ryan Martinie being an excelleent bassist.)

I agree. Where the majority of rap music is generally a beat and lyrics, genres like rock and metal (and others) focus on the combination of instruments and lyrics together to drive a song. A single verse with a rap-esque feel to it doesn't really count as rapping.

Just checking... Broken, and TDS especially have minimal "significant other" overtones, and The Fragile, really only has a few songs that do as well, though they aren't "broken over lost love" as much as "finding true love in difficult places".

He is hands down my favorite musician, would say NIN is as a band, but as a band they keep changing, so it seems silly to refer to "them" as such. Although, I must admit, as "whiney" as that first album was, he does deserve some herassment :)
