Hello everyone i'm new here, and i started working with ued a while ago, but i seem to have this problem:

When i want to move around in my viewport in either [Textures mode] or [Dynamic Light mode] my ued just freezes, it doesn't crash, cus windows doesnt give the error of program not responding, its just doing something and i have no idea what.

Nah im using win xp

on a amd athlon 1800+
i was thinking that it could be my graphix card which is a Radeon 9500+
i got 256 ddr

or it could be that im using the standard Ued for UT i dont know if there is a update or patch for it?

well... i'm no pro, but you might just have low memory for what you´re trying to do...

You using UED 2.0 that came with UT. I have GOTYe and i *think* that UED never got patched or anything (i could be wrong).

In the end might be just memory, if you using that default renderer of UT engine that uses mainly the CPU instead of graphic card... hem... (name)... ha!... Software Renderer. If so, you go to advanced options and switch that in UED rendering setting...

Better wait for experts to reply...

I'll try it, hope you undertsand, cause I'am german :D

Ehm, could it be that your map is a little bit to detailed? Or ´that one Lights shines on hundreds of Faces? If it is so, you should add mor lights with smaller lightraduis. I've got the same problem with my new map. If I want to add a light trhe Ed crashes ( thanks god for the autosave ). If one light schines on to much faces, the ED crashes. The only zhing you can do ist, to add more lights, or to make less detail. I hape thats the right answer for your problem.
P.S. Hm, I think thats a other problem. Ehm, post the Buildstats ( Build/Buildoptions/Stats ), maybe you have to much poly's or brushs or whatever.
P.S. I don't know any Editorpatch for the 2.0, i think there are some for the 3.0.

Could it be that your map contains a huge outdoor part and you have used only one light for the lighting of this part? That's a reason for crashes, but if this happens the 3D Viewport doesnt show any Faces and i think you get a errormessage.

Then I really can't help you. I don't know this proplem!
But coul it be, that your 3D Vioewpot is set on Direct3d? If yes set it on Software! I also have a similar problem, if I set the 3D Viewport on D3D. Have you tried that?

If you not know how to do that, i couldn't be that!
Ehm do a rightklick on the grey header of the 3D-Viewport, then a menu should pop up. Yes and there you choose Software. If it is set on software, i can't help you!
P.S. You musst start the ED to do that!
