Gears of War is an Unreal Engine 3 XBox 360 exclusive title. If I remember correctly, Epic is on record saying they have no plans for U3 currently, but are not ruling it out down the line.

i doubt it, as g4tv continually states that the ps3 is far more superior than the 360, even spec. wise. they have also stated that the 360 has no innovations and is only a higher end of present technology, unlike the ps3 with its blue ray thing-a-majigger and its two $500-a-piece grafix cards. i'm still rooting for xbox to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

teh Intarweb, duh
Ugh, yeah, I know... -2- vid cards :(

It's sad that my local Best Buy is selling home computers with dual Geforce 6600's already :( I guess it really is the new standard for PC game enthusiasts. Imagine what the standard will be by the time UT2007 is released... probably 2 vid cards, dual widescreen flat-panel displays, a dual-core CPU, a physics processing card, 2GB RAM, dual 15k-rpm SATA drives in a RAID0 stripe, 10.1 or 12.1 audio (coming soon), etc. It's damn sickening.

Edit, btw I believe Gears of War is an Xbox exclusive only for 6 months, maybe less, and then it is coming to PC. Or did that change?

Yes, trust G4TV....the Computer channel that changed into MTV with Xplay added. No inovations? 9ghz isn't an inovation? PS3 is going to once again pwn xbawk2 at everything there is to offer. But to say that it's un-inovative is crap. Everything the PS3 has, you can get now. You can buy Blue-Ray discs at BestBuy. The only thing the PS3 has that you can't get yet is the PhisX card.

i'm only giving a rough quote of what was said in g4tv both for the xbox360 and the ps3. blueray thinggy and the twin gfx cards havent been introduced in consoles yet, hence innovative. as far as 9ghz, i'll look it up. and what do you mean "once again pwn xbawk2 at everything there is to offer". you obviusly have yet to compare look and compare specs, xbox on some of the specs beat out ps2 by having sometimes twice as much in every category.

yea i saw that. isnt that the only spec that beats out the xbox360. as of a few weeks ago when E3 was goingn on, they made it seem like 360 was obsolete even before it cam out, but thanx to the above 'projected' data i see the 360 will still hang in there, especially with 3, count them 3, cores. so Jackal i see what you mean, now. good job. not to mention better audio and customizable soundtrack for all games.

but with the xbox that strong, will there ever come UE 3 games to pc?
if it continues like this, then you need 4 cores, maby 3 gfx cards
and 4GB memory to run an UE 3 game.

oh well, with a machine that strong, you can make your own pixar movie's. :D

WTH are you talking about? Epic has stated that UE3 will run fine on, i belvie a 6800GT 256. They recommend the 7800GT, and by the time UE3 is released, you will have powerfull enough cards, even more powerfull than the 78xx perhaps. I am currently saving for a Dual 78xx 512 cards, with AMD 'what ever comes out'. and it will be way over kill for UE3.

BTW, i can't remember why I said that the PS3 will pwn the xbawx2 again....anyways, the PS3 is expected to be the most power thing out there, aside from a super computer.

what im talking about, ue3 will only run on the new xbox360
and not the older xbox. my question: why is the xbox360
that strong if you say it runs fine on a pc with a single gfx card.

and with a 6800 GT as minimum, its still extreme.

Do you suppose we'll have more "omg, the Vietnamese and Chinese are buying PS3s to make weapon guidance systems." news reports?

Edit: Silent Hunter's sig is killing my work machine.

The Xbox, as far as I can tell, is still based on current PC architecture, just like the last one (the last one was basically a pc with a proprietory file system and OS). The PS3 however is using that fancy cell chip, which means taking on a whole new angle in terms of processing. I'd say it's far more innovative than the xbox.
