Top warez groups get busted by FBI and local police

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

TIt looks like law enforcement has now acquired the skills to actively pursue digital theft.
It's more than that. The agency that investigates copyright theft here, used illegal and questionable means itself.
They somehow paid for one of the top FTP servers of the whole group network and used that to acquire and track the IPs of the people using it

The warez groups clearly need better counterintelligence :)

Do you have a link to any article explaining just what exactly happened? This story seems fascinating

The only way I see luck really having an effect on this second raid is if they found a lead in the first raid that led them to this one; that might have been the case, I don't know.

Because I don't see the CIA / FBI / USA mentioned at all in this article and believe that these raids took place completely in Europe / not America, I'm going to go ahead and assume that the raids were not at all a product of Bush and his all-seeing eye, but I could very well be wrong, it just seems unlikely. This thinking comes from the fact that I'm not seeing this report on any of the major American news outlets.
11 nations it happened in including America. ......google ''operation site down''

Wasn't there a flame forum once, something similar to that. I can't remember clearly, it's been a long time. 2002? 2003?
It didn't last long, though.

there was but the admins didnt even keep it for a day or so. I wish they would bring it back. I really want it.

or should we just make a flaming forum for everyone who can't handle discussions?
That would be a pretty good idea actually... that's why we won't be seeing it anytime soon ;)

About the warez groups (or anything warez related), it's just stupid how much money and time is spent on investigation and cooperation between up to 10 countries to stop computer game piracy. Why don't they use that to fight drug and weapon smugling or pedophila or something really useful? Oh wait, these ones fire back

Explain why so many of the .nfo's (all by different groups) in the last two days have mentioned the raid then? Reloaded wasnt taken out, just their leader and a few members were arrested. They are still able to release stuff.

please stop having your typical knee jerk reactions to everything. You are making even me look smart.
