[COLOR=00D0FF]C'mon...Doom2 shotgun and BFG were nice...but nothing beats the Redeemer! Everytime I kill someone with a redeemer, I always laugh! Buhahahaha! When I kill MYSELF with the redeemer, I laugh too! You can guide it as a missle and watch your enemies run in terror! It's the best weapon I tell you. A true genius of a weapon![/COLOR]

if you are talking about power than yeah, the redeemer is the best of all time, but if you are talking about effectiveness and ease of use, than the double enforcers or the flak cannon or the rocket launcher or the shock rifle or any of the other millions of weapons in the other millions of games are just as good, it is all a matter of personal preference.

The deemer is quite fun to fly around and chase people with. I dunno about best... I always liked the flak 
That CP-90 or whatever it's called out of Goldeneye. That ones pretty cool. It can shoot through walls.
Unfortunately, I can shoot a 'deemer down with a ripper blade, so... nope... not the most effective. Guess what? The Ripper Bastard prefers the Ripper. But I always liked the double shotgun from doom2.

I think the 'deemer is a fine, balanced inclusion in UT, but certainly not the best weapon in terms of effective (safe) killing or fun gameplay....
And I must remember to let the 'deemer fly a little way before I kill the guy who's guiding it....

A lot of CTF-maps would be much more funnier to play without the redeemer. In indoor maps it sucks.

Do you realize that what you call a weapon is just a piece of code,ie information.
It's nothing than just an algorythm that modifies a bit the way the program operates and some of the variables involved in the game.
All other intellectual/emotional interpretations are your own and thus cannot be quantified and/or compared.
Then there is the artistic aspect of it, but artistic values can't be compared either.
The Translocator is the gratest, most original weapon.
If i didn´t knew UT and someone told me about a TL in a game, i´d say "that would be really unfair to include in a game, would be really unbalanced" but well..... in UT it was possible and well done

The deemer is damn fun I'll admit, but I don't think it's the best weapon. If anything, I'd choose the Enhanced Shock Rifle. Now there's a weapon that requires skill. And the adrenaline......
Hmm, let's see, the "nuclear warhead" in Shadow Warrior, now that was pretty fun to shoot.
The "laser trip mines" in Duke Nukem 3D were always good for some nasty traps. Duke also had the "microwave gun" that expanded enemies until they exploded. And also the "shrink gun" that made enemies small enough to step on. 3DRealms had some neat ideas...
But nothing was as cool as that first BFG shot in Doom. Ah, memories....

The redeemer is not a weapon. It's an admin tool. It's too powerful. It should be available only to admins, when someone pisses them off or just for a joke.
