Instead I throw whiteboard erasers at them. Not as fun.

how old are your students?
Had a teacher who used to throw chalk at people not listening to him (Generally those who talk in the back.)
It was great fun when he did it
Also if your spelling was really bad, he would count every mistake you made. A friend ended up with a -75/20 grade xD (Still counted as 0)

Throw a key ring with lots of keys on their desk. Makes a loud noise and attracts the attention of the whole class.
I teach lower level college courses(composition classes and intro to literature), so they're largely 18-19.

If I were the teacher and spotted someone zonked like that. I'd just stop, walk up in front of them, crouch down and start staring while saying their name til they started to wake up then slam my hands onto the desk and yell "WOULDYOULIKEAPILLOW?BLANKET?YOURTEDDYBEAR?HUH?HUH?HUH?"
