Darn, just when I was getting away from them too. ;)

Seriously though, I am strongly hesitant to lay down money on almost any console game, with the exception of the Final Fantasy genre which I'd slap down money before even thinking.

W00t I'm home.

From what I've read, it seems MS is pushing stuff very hard to be able to allow XBox users to map on their computers - for ALL games, not just UC. With the onboard HD, I don't see how it would be a problem to make a map on your computer with UEd 3.0 or whatever, then send it over to your XBox.

What I have NO clue about is whether or not you'll be able to play online games versus computer users with your XBox...

Having messed around with a (chunky) X-Box controller, I wouldn't look forwards to using UED with one of them, unless, as you say, you can develop the map on your computer then transfer it across.

In fact, if you can transfer files to an X-Box, I see a whole subculture of software and peripherals appearing which make an X-Box act like a PC.

Think of it this way: you know how mappers have to limit themselves to 400 polys per frame now? Well, multiply that limit by 100 to 150 and think of how many polys per frame that will encompass. Now take that evolution and apply it to models, weapons, and effects.

are you talking about bsp polys, or mesh polys

I wonder if Deck will make it? It transended Unreal into UT and remains one of my favorite maps.

as far as I know, there's not one single UT brush in UC.

--and the answer is "no". There are a number of differences between the UT and Warfare builds, most notably, the players are scaled up, making UT maps too small.

Luq, MS is avioding any PC/XBox connections like the plauge - they dont want the XBox to be associated with 'geeky' and 'uncool' PC's

Did they ever show those horrific J Allard XBox commercials in the US?

And no, UT maps will not work with UC for obvious reasons

Maybe, but evil consoles keep on growing out of the too-stupid-to-handle-a-pc generation like mushrooms out of horsesh*t...
Most developers see consoles as a main priority and pc as something wich can wait...
I got a hartfelt middlefinger for those guys...

If I were running a game company and wanted to turn a profit, I'd concentrate on consoles too
