Well I really don't care.

The people that are so easily influenced by those ads, that they actually believe that all PC users are nerds, are people I don't want to know anyway.

They are slightly annoying though. They only make the typical arrogant mac user have more leverage.

Well, my PC looks like a mac, so it must be a cool young guy inside and a fat nerdy guy who loves spreadsheets inside *rolls eyes*

You know, I just came up with an idea.

A lot of people on my faculty own macs, for reasons unknown. (them being poor students, I have no clue why they'd want overpriced laptops. Besides the Apple hype in design circles.)

Tomorrow I will take my camera with me and photograph the people I see working on either a MacBook or a regular laptop. I think you can see pretty distinct differences between the two groups.
One being that the mac users have decidedly more popped collars than the others;)

Honestly, Macs are pretty cool. I want a Macbook or Powerbook for work. OSX is a nice operating system.

somewhere; sometime?
The commercials suck but if you ever spent any time doing tech support troubleshooting for PC's and then did it for Macs you'd never want to see a PC again in your life.

Macs cost more. But that's because they work and you'll save money in the long run. You won't have hardly any problems for years. PC's come with so much baggage it's unbelievable. And when you have a problem you get sent around to all 823 manufacturers hotlines where various pieces of your PC came from, each one saying it's a conflict with someone else's component.

I own a PC for gaming. I own a Mac (gift from grandparents, previous generation iMac with the swivel screen and bubble desktop) for everything else.

In your computer, duh.
The new Microsoft ads are much more creative. Very subtle too.

All I've seen is one pointing out how college students prefer iMac laptops. I agree, most do prefer iMac laptops. I don't. I don't like laptops and I don't like iMacs. I'm typing this from a public iMac PC running Leopard which I hate severely. I would rather be using the IBM PCs with Windows XP on them.

Why would it break?

Please tell me you're not serious... please tell me you did not imply that iMacs do not break...

I would probably buy a mac if they weren't so overpriced and incompatible with all my games and most of my programs ect.

I like the mac vs pc ads. They're amusing. I honestly don't care for Macs as I
1) do not like like the OS as I've grown up with windows and it's second nature to me and OSX is most certainly not.
2) think that right clicking is awesome (yes, I know they support it, but that's of little consolation when you're trying to use a macbook and didn't think to bring your own mouse)
3) play games
4) think paying lots of money for something I could build myself for half the price is absurd.

Macs are very solid computers that I just happen not to like. The ads are just funny. John Hodgeman ftw.

I agree that the adverts are funny, I just think that some of the people who hate them are just a bit too PC fanboyish

Electronic components will survive the next 5 world wars and our sun going nova. That's how indestructible they are.
