OK back to silencers....

OK, those who think about CS with the m4a1 with a silencer are actually RIGHT, the silencer on the m4a1 does allot more than kill 35db thank you very much, the figure is more like 50 to 60 db difference. And do you know how bloody loud 165 DB's is??? your fricken crazy if you think its that loud, thats like instant deafness if your less that 10 metres away from it FFS!!!!!!!!!........ try maybe 130 - 140 db....... And unless you can give me an OFFICIAL site that says 165 db's your full of it........

Wow, the little sh1t is cute. Must be a really bad comedian.

Lets see:

In the 2001 edition of "Special Weapons for Military & Police" magazine, #14.

In an article entitled "TAC-ORD M4 5.56mm" by Al Paulson it states:

"Two kinds of ammunition were used for the testing: (1) Black Hills 62-grain FMJ, which has similar accuracy and sound signature characteristics to M855 military ball ammunition and (2) EBR 53-grain Ultra-Stealth Subsonic ammunition, which is designed NOT to cycle the action in order to eliminate the clatter of action noise when absolutely maximum stealth is required."

"Unsuppressed sound pressure levels (SPLs) were measured one meter to the left of the muzzle, while suppressed levels were measured one meter to the left of the suppressor. Reported decibel levels represent the mean (average) of 10 shots."

The silencer used was the latest model from the Tactical Ordnance and Equipment Corporation, the Model MS-556.

And the performance test:

Black Hills 62gr FMJ **()** EBR 53gr Ultra- Stealth Subsonic

SPL, unsuppressed 164dB **()** 151dB
SPL, suppressed 134dB **()** 115dB
Net sound reduction 30dB **()** 36dB

And so you see lawsy you little snot nosed green horn, every now and then disconnect from your favourite counter-strike server and smell the burnt cordite of reality.

Or some day, you might just get hurt, boy.

Lawsy:

First.
The Aimpoint M68 optic based on the Aimpoint Comp Extreme Duty used on the MP5 has no zoom. Although it can have if you strap on the lense set also sold by aimpoint.

The power of the lense is NOT variable and powered reddot sights are rarely used since that nullifies their intended purpose(fast aquisition aiming without optical parallax). If one is going to use a zoom optic he might as well use a Trilux.

Second.
Counter-Strikes suppressors are totally ****ed up. But don't take my word for it;

A highly regarded suppressor manufacturer

A performance comparison between several suppressed weapons by Al Paulson(writer for one of those guns for LE magazines). There's a typo in there which calls the M4A1 an 'M1A1', but that's easy enough to ignore since the suppressor is the right one.

Third.
There are no such things as 'silencers'.

Fourth.
Suppressors do not go *piut!*

Fifth.
Don't presume to have knowledge you don't. You'll pay for it sooner or later, because if 165 decibles is; "instant deafness if your less that 10 metres away from it FFS!!!!!!!!!........", then I and many others on this board would be pretty damned deaf by now.

aka FURY13RT
