I'm trying to join jerdaygo's server right now, but I have to redownload Suicide.
Any chance of getting the correct map onto the download page so I/we can just install it ourselves?
The .rar file on the download page dosen't seem to be the correct file. After opening it, it says "Suicide", and is listed as a UT4K4 map. I drag and drop it to the ./ut2k4/maps folder, even asks if I want to replace the exsiting file. The I goto join the server and still have to redownload the map.
In my maps folder, it says 6.30 megs. Is that the correct size?".
My map size is 6,438 kb.

The map I have on the server is the map off the site... and the map off the site I also have here on my gaming machine and I have 0 problems so I dunno.
I guess Jerdaygo has screwed up the map on the server... or he just needs to rebuild the signature database. I'll go look for the right command straight away...
In my case it was $n][pErMan's server, not Jerdaygo's. I have the map, and have played it numerous times, yet last night after I voted for it and it won, it started to download at a very slow rate. After waiting several minutes for it to reach 1%, I gave up.
It will do that because the mirroring for the server does not have that map so its going to download directly from the server (which is slow). Odd that you had to download it off my server (as no one else was having issues). Id redownload the map off the site and try again (maybe u have an old version). Or if you wish and have MSN or AIM... I could send you the exact copy I have on my server.
Im also working to upload everything Unwheel related to my companies servers the site is hosted on so the URL redirect will download UW related content fast if say you dont have something.
I have the newest version on my server and I dont have any problems with suicide on mine either, this is one of those very strange things, but i think i am going to rebuild my server, as it has been a very long time and things unrelated to the unwheel game server have built up on it and need to be backed up. I hope to have it back up tonight.

redownload the .rar file off of shrimps offical downloads and re-extract it to your maps folder then check your cache folder .ini and delete anything that has UWRL-SUICIDE.ut2....i think that should work
my folder says:

Jerdaygo and I just tested his site, and no problems with Suicide were found. Just another of those many odd UT2004 errors

(You may use this tool if you are comfortable with the DOS/Win command prompt and simply want to generate an MD5 signature; just save it into your Maps folder, open the prompt in that directory and type 'md5 UWRL-Suicide.ut2', hitting Enter. Linux people use the md5sum utility (the same way like Windowsers). Let's see what we've got for numbers.)

WTF?!?!?!? happened again. Was playing against Jeep tonight, voted for Suicide, had to d/l it from the server again
We were on snipe's server. Going to try to reinstall it from the rar again.

This really sucks! I deleted all traces of the map, even the .rar, redownloaded it, drop&drag the map to the maps folder, and still have to d/l it from the server.
Is there a missing file like a .utx or .umx from the .rar? When I open it, the only file in the .rar is the map. No textures, music, or anything else.
This seems to be the only map that I have a problem with.

if you can give me an exact time you can be on to test this on my server I may be able to bring it up, I have internet for about 30-60 before the router drops the network so we would have a small window.JACK SH!T said:WTF?!?!?!?

Instead of useing drag&drop, I told winrar to extract it to the 2k4 maps. I logged back onto snipe's server, and the map played fine. I tried it offline first to see what would happen. I think Jeep might have had a problem too, I pinged snipe's server while it was trying to d/l, & he was gone (might have left becouse he didn't want to be there alone).

she's the 'bread winner' in our house my job just plain sux im glad shes keeping me around though
Hmm, I am starting to get a complex here My last two maps have caused more problems than most. Suicide doesn't use any other package that needs downloaded, the .rar file only has the map itself.

Ive never had this problem .. and my server is not on my gaming machine but a seperate computer on linux so I dunno
