Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. as for the screenie I am very impressed with the graphics but how does it play is the question.....for me the new console wars is going to be about gameplay...the years before I was a "eye candy" man to a certain degree, but hell lets be honest all the new games are PRETTY enough for me.....

ICO (which is pronounced ee-koh i think) is the full title the last time i checked. It reminds me alot of the old clasic "flashback". that was on the 16-bit platforms, due to it's style of graphics. Which managed to apear very realistic due to awsome animation, yet have the apearance of a 3d anime character. A similar effect was also used in jet grind radio. I'ts something you have to see to apreciate.
Gran Turismo 3. it's a very addictive game, and has alot of replay value in it. I find that most of the fun in the game is in the first half, because the professional and endurance races take anywhere between 30 mins to 2 hours on a single race. I'm a busy guy so i don't have 2 hours to sit down and play a single race... so i've mostly been enjoyed the great graphics, and gameplay. The biggest let down with Gt3 is that if you do get together 2 PS2's for the linkup battle, you can't use the cars on your memory cards. You have to use the default ones.

The screens are small, and focus more or less on the action rather than the environment, but then again the action/physics of Halo are a big part of what makes it just so cool. Check out some of the trailers listed under "Cortana Transmission". You might keep in mind that in that development build, certain scenes are flat shaded and lack shadowcasting.
I also hear that in the past four months, over 15,000 <em>unique</em> sounds have been added to the game. That's right, i said Fifteen Thousand. One-Five-Zero-Zero-Zero. All in Dobly 5.1. Yum. Apparantly, they are averaging one new sound every six minutes.
Also, there will be no multiplayer Bots in Halo. Oh well. The kickass single player scenario coupled with coop mode and god-knows-how-many easeter eggs should keep the game re-playable. Also interesting is that you can only carry two weapons at any given time, plus a utilty item (like grenades). On the plus side, you can arm yourself with any weapon you see in the game, provided you can kill the poor bastard who happens to be using it...

I saw all those shots on GameSpot when I was trying to find a comparison pic. Frankly, I didn't choose them because I thought they looked worse. But, again, for the sake of argument...

The biggest letdown for me was the fact that in order to truly appreciate the game, you've got to dish out the $100 to buy the GT Force steering wheel. The game just doesn't feel right using a controller. Still, it's one hell of a racing sim.

Pardon my Console ignorance, but what KIND of game is Outcast 2? Is it FPS? Adventure? RPG?

Honestly, Halo looks better than those shots. The screenies you posted of Outcast 2 look washed out, blurred, filtered funny and matted. No realism. Halo looks sharp and more realistic, less artsy-fartsy. Plus there's no images of actual gameplay, so that means possibly no real-time shadows, lighting & per-pixel effects and the like. I don't even know wtf Outcast 2 is, fps, RPG, etc. I'd take Halo over it any day.
It's an adventure game along the lines of Tomb Raider, set in an alternate dimension. Like I said, you can read the full review of the original Outcast here.

Besides, I think that the "washed out, blurred, filtered funny and matted" look makes it appear more realistic, as opposed to Halo which looks more cartoonish.

I, obviously, beg to differ. Those images look like they've been tweaked in photo shop to have a certain look. Not at all like reality, more like a cartoony, artistic effect pulled over reality.

I agree with Keiichi. Outcast looks more gritty and although I wish they didn't use that effect so much, it does look more realistic.
