Sniper things

At first:
this is no troubleshooting message!

I've played quite a lot this weekend, and had one nice idea about the Robar:
If I fire it once, and immediately want to reload it, the following happens:
-round fired(as it should)
-weapon reloaded(new round from mag inserted)
-bolt opened(for adding round to mag)
-round reloaded(as it should)
-bolt closed(as it should)
well, now that's what I'd prefer:
(I fire a round, nobody's around and I want to add a new one to the mag, for I could need six shots later, when trouble is on the way..)
-round fired(as it should)
-the reload button is pressed immediately!
-bolt opened and stays open!
-new round added at once!
-bolt closed
I don't know how hard this would be to programm, but I think it would add some 'reality' to the game, since I always can leave the bolt open and add some ammo.
Please consider it..

The other thing I found out:
At least with the PSG the zoom is not always the same! For being specific:
I use it on 6x - I zoom in several times - the zoom alters slightly! I even made two screenshots of this event - though I couldn't send them before next week, becase I left the at home.

One(last) more:
Would it be possible to add some scopes for the rifles; I often find the 6x for the PSG not enough, especially because I use to go for the head. Maybe one could choose from a 2x-6x and a 4x-10x or so.
(don't know how hard this would be to programm - but the same scope models could be used, so only the zoom would be different..)

Oh, and if we are at sniper things:
Any real sniper should try the 'HallOfGiants' CTF map(think I fount it at NaliCity)
Not that it is anything near realistic, but it's the ultimate sniping experience; You not only have to lead your target, you also have to aim higher! because of the long range..

Speaking of replacement scopes, how about that? Purchasing your own scope (like a nice, shiny Leopold.) So you can customize all your schtuff. A real long rifleman wouldn't wanna be without his favorite scope.

The PSGs scope cannot be replaced?
What if the scope get's damaged, for any reason?
Or was that only for INF?

OK, but what about the Robar idea? I think it wasn't that bad, but what do you think?

Men, you gotta learn to write a little better answers..

PS: the scope manufacturer is Leupold..

Right now, additional attachments that replace the location of other attachments is only beta.. we're not sure it'll even work. If it does work, you'll be able to have different types of scopes for different weapons. But that also means we need time to create and texture them. And at this time, the attachments we have won't change until after 3.0. If we have time, we may throw together more possibles.

The PSG-1 scope is permanently attached to the gun, from what I've read on plenty of 'H&K guru' websites.

Erm ok, well what the hell is going on? Because if you can purchase things as that staes then why have a never been able to?

Can some one just explain this to me because it feels like i`m playing a different mod to you lot.

I can think of one advantage of the PSG-1 scope being hard attachment: its more than likely factory calibrated.

As for why you have never been able to purchase anything, that's because that feature is coming later... later... patience, Yoda in a Nest. Patience.

Hall of Giants is a bitch to hit stuff on, definitely. But its also fun for that reason, because its no zany kill a minute maim fest.

Trooper, that is the roadmap, as in, what is to come, as in with Infiltration 3.0. At the moment Inf is a port from the Unreal version 2.6, if you want a better idea of what 3.0 will look like and you have Unreal, try to find Inf 2.6. It is *much* better than the current incarnation. Apparently, from items I have gleaned from various posts, 2.8 will be quite a hop in the direction of 3.0 though. Hopefully it surpasses 2.6 /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Speaking of that, why don't they post 2.6 final release here? I had to ditch Unreal cause I got a whole new system, but I could very easily reinstall it (and then have some servers to play on). Its not that easy to find, or i just dunno where to look.

As being a sniper I might tell you what I think:

for the ROBAR:

- The zooming is too slow, it takes more than 2 secs to actually get a headshot with 1000X zoom. So I think the zoom should be faster (The INF team said it is impossible to make it instant due to the multiple zooms)

- It's a .50 Cal rifle! Which means kickback should be present!

- Faster reloads (2 rounds at a time), I think for the robar, I wouldn't be reloading 1 round at a time, I would be grabbing at least 2 bullets by the hand and putting it in.

For the PSG:

- More ZOOM!
- More Damage!

Overall: I believe all sniper rifles would be better with faster zoom! and Realistic damage! It may make it much harder to programme, but it would make the mod more noticable! Already in UT chat, a few people are starting to mock INF! So we have to prove 'em wrong!

NOW COULD ANYBODY POST HIS OPINION ABOUT IT!!!

PS:
I don't think that snipers need more help; I play as sniper permanently - though mainly with the PSG and the M16!(Yes, with a little bit of training two shots are the most you need to pop a head off..)
The PSG used to have more damage in the Demo Mutator - I've used it in UT full version and guess what:
In CTF-Face it was better suited to kill bots from the highest position than the Sniper Rifle - it only had 6x zoom, but killed anything without protection instantly!

After all I'm quite good in headshots with the PSG, the bots set to Masterful - only in CTF, cause in DM it get's me killed too fast..
So if anybody gave me the choice PSG or Robar, I'd take the PSG.

WHAT? NO!

Robar is da ONE! One SHOT! = One KILL!

Dont have to aim for those PUNY heads in 6X zoom!

Da Robar IDEA? hmmm.... Yes! There should be a magazine release key or something for ALL guns! It would make the mod MONSTER-Realistic!

There should also be a zoom in/ out keys, since I have to cycle ALL the zooms to get the one I want, also, you should be able to change zoom while in sniper view!
