Agent_5, I haven't seen much of a significant argument in favor of gay marriage.
Um... exactly the same as the arguments in favour of straight marriage.
The most common ones I have seen are 1) I want to,
Sounds good enough to me until you can give me a concrete example of how it harms others.
or 2) it's not against my religion.
That's not an argument in favour of gay marriage.
The least these people should have is legal standing. .... It seems, from history, that freedom is a common method to justify hate and lawlessness.
This has what to do with gay marriage, again?
Your argument is based solely on emotion and on antireligious bigotry.
I present you with this trophy, to commemorate the dumbest f***ing thing that has yet been said in this thread. Gays only want to marry to piss off Christians? What the hell?
"The least these people should have is legal standing"??? Since when do we justify depriving anyone of their just and rightful political standing simply because their views differ? Just because you disagree with their reasons doesn't give you the right to discount the rights of any lawful citizen. Much as you may dislike the fact that your views aren't the only ones in the world, get over it. Other people exist. There is only one true reality, and we're all in it.
This is the old 'Opinion polls say it should be banned so it should be banned' argument, isn't it? (Is it, by the way? I'm really not sure. Next time you're going to try turning someone's argument against them even though their argument is completely the opposite of yours, don't.) I thought we were past this argument when homosexuality was legalised in the first place. If it doesn't affect anyone, the state has no business saying who can do it and who can't.
