Section 8 Closed Beta

FilePlanet is where you'll find beta keys for Section 8, the first-person-shooter from TimeGate Studios that promises, among other things, dynamic missions for up to 32 players.

This event is a staggered beta with keys distributed first come, first served with limited access. Beta keys will be distributed on a regular schedule.

I hate these US/Canada limitations. F@ck, this is even better than 90% of the cases, which are "North America residents only".... Somehow developers seem to forget that there are other continents out there...

Ok I just played this and it's uh, weird. It's like a Battlefield game that's in UE3 and whatnot. Otherwise I have no idea what was going on for 2 games in a row.

The mechanics aren't hard to get used to after a few games. However...

There are MASSIVE sensitivity and acceleration issues!!! No matter how far you pull back the sens, it still is crazy fast (and I tried reducing driver-level sens too). And even on top of that, there's incredibly annoying acceleration. This seems to be a common console-centric problem in UE3 games (UT3 input problems, anyone?). I wouldn't buy this until the sens is resolved.

Also, there are horrible graphical glitches. And some (a lot) of the loadout options are useless.

BTW, though I have heard people mention it many times, I have never had any UT3 input problems.

What a bunch of fu**ing b/s I applied and got rejected because my XT1600 512 AGP that card plays UT3 better than some of the newer cards so I don't see the issue. anal if you ask me.....

Did it say why you were rejected? They didn't tell me. I had to mark the 8800 series cards in the dropdown, there was no option for "8800 GTX SLI x2" . Don't know if that was the issue or not. I have a quad core intel 2.66 ghz processor, seems like that wouldn't disqualify me either.
