The content of the second DLC for Mass Effect has been revealed - something those of you who love combat are going to enjoy. And there's even good news for those of you looking forward to the sequel.

"We had something in Mass Effect 1 which we didn't have the time and we didn't think we would do well enough, which is a fight club arena," said principal lead designer Preston Watamaniuk in the video.

"We wanted to be able to give people a much more combat-oriented, lighter-story kind of experience," said project director Casey Hudson. "You're going to go to kind of a casino, gaming, fight club space station."

The developers also dropped a few details on the anticipated Mass Effect sequel.

"Any save game that you make from Mass Effect 1, you should be able to carry that same character into Mass Effect 2," noted Hudson.

Pretty cool, really curious about how the savegame stuff is gonna turn out. I think that will be the first time I've ever seen such a feature.

A few games have this feature already. I think one of the NFS games did that. If you had a supped up car, you could carry it into the next NFS game.

Looking foward to the new DLC too. I don't know why it's free for PC and cost money on XBL. I'd rather it be on XBL since I bought the game for 360. Oh well.

Sounds great and can't wait for ME2.

Maybe because MS is the publisher of ME1? I recall there being discussion between Epic and MS on their DLC as well, because Epic did not want to charge for their stuff and MS made them... or something along those lines anyway.

A dumb arena? Is that the BIG DLC they are offering? I would've preferred another quest on a NEW planet with more than 30 min. of gameplay. Oh well...

Arguing about the cost of DLC on a M$ product is pointless. They WILL charge you whenever possible for everything they offer, because that's how they do "business".

@Fuzzle: What about his sister? lol

Indeed. There's a lot of combat in the game already.
And they want to give us an even more combat-oriented story ???

I thought this was a ROLE-playing game instead of just another shooter.

I didn't say the feature had never been done before, just that I had never seen it done before.

I'm sure there are lots more than what's mentioned, but it's certainly not a common thread in games, and one I've yet to experience.
