Well, i cant do anything at all on my computer due to lack of concentration. But on the other hand i though i could give it a try to start scanning, which i did.



So i started scanning the Unreal Official Strategy Guide. But as i expected its alot of work. Takes about 4 minutes per page including processing in Photoshop. This book is around 350 so thats alot of hours.

I still have not read the books myself, but i always wondered why no-one ever bothered to make a SP serie out of it. And from reaing revieus they seem to be ok books.


While looking for the links i also noticed that theres quite a few Music CD's available. But its kinda pointless as the prices are rediculous........ **** like that happens when theres no CD's available and someone starts to offer one, asking a rediculous price. If now other sellers show up, they look at the price and ask a similar price. The sad problem is, when it gets like that, the prices hardly ever drop again. They never will be sold of course.....


A similar thing is happening on Ebay, for years now i try to get the retail box for Rune(Unreal 1 Engine), and they all are between 75 and 200 Dollars, only if hell freezes over ill pay that amount.

Yeah I found them already, gonna order it in friday or so. Hope someone won't buy the ones I selected meanwhile...
Still having financial trouble, but someone is gonna help me with the money a little now so I can order the novels and they are cheap.

Right, i kinda forgot about that post. But he must be reachable, as he still write books seeing the(quite impressive) list. And seeying his page he looks to me like a mellow guy willing to help out. Just in case, but i am sure you already have these pages:

Well I have the book now, Prophet's power, the chapters are indeed switched, not only the cover. You see prophet's power was meant to be only prophet's story, but intsead it is beginning of prophet's story plus beginning of hard crash. And in hard crash is apparently secnd part of hard crash plus second part of prophet's power. Not to mention the chapters of hard crash are a bit confusing too, since it tells story from three perspectives at once.

Bumping this thread. Especially since it contains links to the gw press website and reveals the origin of the levels. Some people assume the gw levels were shipped and that the level was called Villa and not Villa2, both of which are incorrect. the credit goes to dinwitty for originally putting the levels up anyway after the site has been long defunct.

I think there were 2 villas, similar, but with variations between the 2.
I'll check, been a while.

I have 2 versions, maybe the same map but 1 is ported to be compatible with the current unreal versions as the original GWpress maps were made in original unreal and won't load in later versions, why I ported them.

If you recall, you uploaded the originals but I immediately made the DmVilla2_224 and later renamed to dmvilla2f, and then later renamed by delacroix to dmvilla in the updaed "divison" pack of him. And then you get people who start to think DmVilla was the original gw press release name and chaos ensues...
Not to mention there was DMVilla a custom unrelated map that ran on some popuar servers now and then, hence the reason of my protest against naming it just DmVilla. The original VillaDM in the beta was much smaller map also, dmvilla2 is really villa2 in a sense compared to that 1 on 1 map.

VillaDM and DMVilla2 are your original maps, the 1999 date on DMVilla2 sounds right when I DLed it as I got into the Unreal scene a little later than may 1998, I got the game running on my updated system late 1998, prolly got the GWPress book a little later, found the downloads, so the date makes sense to me. A lot of this is on my Win98 system elsewhere around here.

I found my zip I did in 2006 while finishing/working Search, the dates match, jan 12, 1999, prolly when I DLed them.

These are all in "Search" original and ported to work in current unreal versions.

Feb. 1998. I have 2 copies of this; one is within the Unreal 98 beta and one copy is independent; found on my old download HDD (6GB HDD! lol) but I am not sure when or where I got it all those years ago.
