Weaponpack 1.6.1 requires that S3TC textures be enabled for the video renderer, at least for some purposes (see the SCAR's "Field Manual"). This implies that one should have said textures installed. However, https://forums.beyondunreal.com/threads/getting-the-perfect-inf-install.170880/ explicitly says that the S3TCs should not be used with Infiltration. Is this outdated, or does S3TC eye-candy goodness now play nice with Inf?

A similar question was asked in https://forums.beyondunreal.com/threads/s3tc-high-res-textures.196224/#post-2527932 but nobody ever responded. Given the discrepancy between the SCAR's field manual and the post on "getting-the-perfect-inf-install", we need a clear statement on this issue.

Also, would S3TC textures interfere with psytex?

OK, further digging found the following (from https://forums.beyondunreal.com/threads/infiltration-2-9-common-problems.121530/). If you use the S3TCs...
You may find that the Inf soldier's waling animation is very odd, their actual position doesn't reflect the speed at which they are moving i.e. they can slide along the ground prone at high speed (this doesn't affect the hitboxes though). I'm told it also has an affect on reload animations, and the hand animation in the dukeNades mutator.
The ground-scooting sounds like it'd be worth installing the S3TC's just to see. Might give the slang "snake" for spec-ops types a whole new meaning!
