hehe.

My parents both have psychology degrees, both work with people all day long in their jobs. Corporal punishment seems unnecessary from over here. As far as I can tell, they were 3 for 3 without hitting us.

If there are.. then who made them brats? It's all in the upbringing
Some kids are 'touched' by god and are not right and may appear to be brats, that`s all part of the upbringing as you abserve them in the mall??
Or they may have a hyperactive condition and not be very managable, that`s all part of upbringing too huh?

yes. If the child is uncontrollable, then make the enviroment controlable. BTW.. in my opinion.. upbringing starts when the women finds out she is going to have a baby.. or at the time the people decide to have a child.

Sorry if it`s too simple for you to understand, maybe you were one of those kids.
...so the mother is the responsable party if the child is touched in the head, or has a hyperactive condition huh??

98% of the time... yes. It's all linked to the condidtion of your body when you get someone "knocked up" or when carrying the child.

and the statment was to simple.. it simply wasn't quantified you tard.

The punishment should be befitting the the transgression and immediate. Poetic justice makes the connection between what was done wrong and the consequences all the clearer. That said, the child must understand what was wrong and why, else the punishment would appear random.

They were violent because they were pychos.

I remember when this thing went down, I was still in highschool. It was a big thing for me, to happen...because it was my generation and I remember being angry at the way the country was handling it. People blaming video games, blaming Marylin Manson, ect. The only people who seemed to make sense were the ones who blamed the parents. And yeah, they should have known what their kids were doing and they could have prevented it if they were doing their jobs. Responsible parents would have realized their kids were crazy and get them help. Real help.

But nobody wanted to blame the kids. Nobody. If they had been a pair of 30 year olds...scratch that....21 year olds, nobody would have blamed music. Blamed video games. Blamed their parents. They would have called it "a massacre at the hands of mad men". But because they were teenagers they were exempt. That bothered me alot.

People are afraid of punishing their kids because of reasons like Columbine. And that's just stupid. People look at extreme cases and act like if they do any sort of harsh punishment their kids will grow up to be maniacs and kill people. Hitting your kids is not wrong if you are doing it to teach them something or discipline them so they can understand why the thing they did was wrong. Now I'm not saying there aren't better ways to handle it, some people can get their kids to understand without raising a hand. But it is one method and it doesn't mean you are being a bad parent if you smack your kids for doing something bad. But you gotta make sure they understand what they did. You have to teach them. Spanking on its own does not educate.

And you are totaly correct.........on all points above.

I also think too that blaming movies, music,or vid games is so stupid,I only play FPS games since quake, and other "violent" games in the nintendo days, and I won't buy a gun,or even step on ants (mabye a magnifiying glass lol) but violence on tv or whatever is completely different than the real thing for sure.

There is one game I will take exception to,is "King Pin",man that game was a serious lesson on how to cuss up a storm hehe.
