Maybe I'm asking the wrong people on the wrong forum, but goolge sent me here so what the hell....

On the RPG Invasion server (with FHI) I play on, on FHI maps, sometimes when I am changing weapons or after I die, I will have no weapons or a strange weapon called FHIWeapon or RPGHealing etc.....This also happens when I'll be scrolling through the weapons and then I will be unable to change back to normal weapons. I was wondering if you could help me out? If you know whats going on let me know, if I'm posting in the completely wrong place please call me a noob and point me to the right place.

what server are you playing on? what FHI maps do you see this occuring consistently on? This probably isn't the right forum, but don't know if you should go to the RPG forum or not.

FHIWeapon and RPGHealing don't sound like conventional weapons but instead weapon hacks, so you shouldn't be getting those in your inventory, at least not in a selectable state.

I'm afraid I don't know the innards of RPG, but I haven't seen this happen with normal FHI. If possible, could you post some screenshots of the weirdness in action?

I see this happening on all the FHI maps.
You are correct Parser, those wierd weapons are not useable, I just mentioned them because they are obviously not ment to be there and they appearence coincides with the loss of function of all my weapons (ie. they will disappear visually or disappear from my inventory [except for weapons like translocator and impact hammer])

As for screenshots I'll try get you some tonight.

that usually happens with weapon mutator conflicts
i get around it by using the number keys for the weapons when scrolling gets stuck

Well thats a start.....anyone have ideas about what icemanex said? Is he right and how do I fix this if he is right?

BTW Its not fixable by fiddling with the numbers instead of scrolling. Its like your weapons disappear but they still appear when you scroll. ie. you can't shoot, but you see them listed however, they aren't visable either.

Is this happening to other players on the server too, or just you? Because, it sounds more like a server side issue, and you may need to report it to the server admin.

nobody has ever mentioned this error on my server. I would invite you to go to my server, but you may want to reconsider. my server runs FHI 4.1 with all the latest updates.

Ok I'll try that. Other people have this problem also on the server I play on....I'll come try yours.

Weapons disappearing.. do the monsters and projectiles also disappear periodically? This used to happen on LB's server, I think - it's either an issue with packet loss or there's so much on screen to draw that the engine just doesn't render the stuff down the line of priority.

it kinda sounds like the paths for looking for files isn't complete serverside
