Problem with online play...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I Installed Fraghouse correctly, averything works fine...offline the game works fluently...but when I try to connect on a server, I must download the maps that I already have, and then textures...I didn't feel waiting until they download, so I don't know what happens next...Do you know what could be the problem? Something with the cache? Or something else? Should I change something in FHIv4User.ini? Or some other .ini file?

Hey there.

Which version did you download? v4.1 is the absolute latest, which you can get from the files page. It might be that the server you're trying to play on is still running an old version like version 3. Just about all of the maps received some some of overhaul between v3 and v4, so your having to download them again would make sense.

Additionally, if you're playing on LightBringer's servers, I believe he's "remixed" some of the stock maps to add/change stuff, but the new ones should be on a redirect and I'm pretty sure he would've given them different names.

I dowloaded the latest version. I guess it could be the problem with versions on servers, especially because you said that there were changes in maps. My browser finds only two or three servers, and seems that all of them have older versions of FHI. But no problem, I'll wait and practice offline, while they upgrade! :D I can't remember at the moment if there was LightBringer's server...Thank you all, and cya these days!

You won't find LightBringer's servers under FHI. You have to look under Invasion.
His servers: RPG invasion servers 72.9.229.69 and 72.9.229.71
I believe .71 is public. Try it out. :)

Yes, I renamed the maps that I edited, and they are on fast redirect. I have many FHI maps that I and others made that were made after FHIv4.1. So, you would have to download those maps. I have the latest FHI version installed on both servers. I also have other mutators like RPG that you have to download files as well. So, that is why you might be seeing that you need to download a bunch of files and maps.

The public server is listed under regular invasion gametype. Since you already have FHI installed, I would run the FHI bat file and then just type 'open 72.9.229.71' in the console, then add to favorites. The 72.9.229.71 is the public server. the 72.9.229.69 is the private server. The private server does show up in the FHI browser, but not the public server. In order to gain access to the private server, you have to acheive an RPG level of 1600 or more.
