I just picked up my first cell phone, one thing I can see that would be cool.....if each phone had a global possistioning device in it and you could point your phone at anyone else that was holding a cell phone and your phone would call them automaticly with a push of a button. Kinda point and dial technology. Scuss!

whatever happened to your weedeater/mower invention?
I have the patent in my name and am paying the dues on it, and I have a working prototype. I have a company in Millwakee that says they can make it fit on every mower deck, assemble on the right or left side, pass all OSHA specs, and build two production units for a cost of 100,000 bucks. Cost per unit is estimated at 45-55.00 thereafter. Just gotta dig throught the sofa for the spare change and I`ll be ready to go.

ermmm what would OSHA have to do with your lawnmower attachment? They don't give a damn.

"OSHA's mission is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health."

"OSHA offers many resources designed specifically for smaller employers. The agency wants to encourage all businesses to establish safety and health programs and find and fix hazards to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.

This page provides access to the most popular materials for small businesses, from free on-site consultation to interactive computer software to technical information to easy-to-follow guides for specific OSHA standards. It also includes links to OSHA local offices and the Small Business Administration."

I delt with the local OSHA offices for several years, and they follow work enviroments, not inventions.

can you find investors? people in Florida are almost always mowing lawns.
They all have the exact same questions...how many units are you going to sell??
I dunno but there was 5 million riders sold last year alone.
Show me a like product to compare it to....
There are no like products.
You don`t know how many your going to sell and you don`t have anything to compare it to and you want us to invest how much money???

Shows what you know. Yes they do.
OSHA has all kinds rules for new mower decks and attachments including among others a marble and nail test. They run the mower over a hard serface covered with nails and marbles and nothing can come through the deck, which means this unit needs to mount without drilling holes.

Well this is what market research is for, you should be handing out questionnaires to people to find out how many people would be willing to buy one so you can give a rough sales estimate.

The market research was done, that`s where we came up with the 5 million riders a year sold.
QVC has showed interest in being the first to launch the unit, but they want quanity in there warehouse before they air it, like 50,000 units.
If I could get to the next step and have production units, I would then go to the bank and borrow the cash to get about 10,000 units made and stack them in the back of the truck and hit every mom and pop lawn mower shop between here and 400 miles in every dirrection, leave three or four on their shelfs and show them how to install it. Once it`s on the shelves, I`m sure the intrest/novalty factor alone will sell it.

Yes OSHA does follow work environments....obviously OSHA considers the mower a working enviorment and they require mowers to be safe to ensure a safe working envirment for everyone. Would explain all the belt guards and heat shields around the exhaust, as well as the safety switches that kill the motor if you dissmount with the mower engaged etc.
Regardless if you can find anything on their site or not, they do have tests and safety issues that need to be dealt with before launching a product like this.
