Patched to 3369 -> CD key invalid???

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Let me list here what i did:
Installed the UT Mega Pack (which should have the patch 3369 in it anyway, right?)
UDE wouldn't install, claiming i run version 1 and it needed anything up from 3186 (unpatched UT2004 is 3186 already, huh?), so i installed just the 3369 patch on top of it.
UDE v3005 is running, but now UT2004 won't start and tells me my CD key seems to be invalid. I checked the registry - the key is correct.
So what is wrong?
Thanks for any hints...

There is an error in the Mega Pack installer that makes the game think it's version is 1. This shouldn't have caused the problem you are having though.

It sounds like your UT2004.ini file got corrupted.

Delete UT2004\System\UT2004.ini, and a valid version should be created when you start the game. You can keep a backup if you like, although it is likely useless.
