OpenGL's great, but...

Ok, for ages, i had been using D3D as my renderer, and only recently just migrated to OpenGL. problem is, the following guns cover up the bar that shows thew guns you're carrying in the bottom-left hand corner.

This is the list of guns that do this:

I found an old thread here that addresses the same problem. Has anyone found a way past it? And with Chris <whatshisname> OpenGL 2.9 thing?

there's no way to code an 'always on top' mutator, like windows media player and the like?

@UN17: When you have a mounted GL (M203/GP25) the glitch coveres up wether or not you have activated it. Can you imagine having to use your gun hurriedly, but end up firing a dull, minimal damage 40mm grenade at the person instead of firing three quick rounds into his/her chest? Oh, that's right... you don't use anything other than pistols...

And don't say that 'the GP25 round will detonate 14 second later', cause by that time, the enemy would have killed me while changing to primary fire, and walked away by then... :(
