Too bad, that looked like a good replacement. I guess I'm looking for 20+4 pin on the main line, correct? Seems like the Tomahawk would be a good choice.

people at pcper are saying to get an OCZ or FSP Group PSU and I'm pretty sure those are good, but you know I'm an Enermax fan boy.;)

Here are some interesting ones:

Corsair 520W

Corsair 550W

Silverstone 560W

Silverstone 560W

Thermaltake 550W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153059

The OCZs 501W or above are all 600W at newegg. I haven't searched at 500W and slightly below yet though (see below).

EDIT: OK, so forget the Corsairs just in case they have that squealing issue thing.:) Here are some more at 500W and slightly below:

FSP Group 500W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104050

(ok, it gets pretty crazy after this, and there are a lot of choices, I'll just say how many more of each brand I'm considering)
Seasonic - 4
Thermaltake - 3
PCP&C - 1
FSP Group - 3
OCZ - 3

This is based on just a quick glance at each one (most if not all of these others are 500W). I'll need to dig up the specs on the one I have in the computer now and see how it compares with these others.

I decided to get on this again and finally order one. It's down to 9 possible PSUs (all from Newegg):

- Enermax 500W (Tomahawk)
- Silverstone 560W (2nd one above)
- Seasonic 500W
- FSP Group 500W (2 possible ones)
- Thermaltake 500W (2 possible ones)
- OCZ 500W (2 possible ones)

I got the specs, so I'll be comparing for a couple days and probably will order one on Friday night.:)

Well, I didn't order Friday night because the weekend was kinda busier than suspected, but it's now down to 3. The OCZs were eliminated because not enough molex connectors; the Thermaltakes were eliminated because the efficiency didn't impress me and a couple other minor things I can't remember; the FSP Group one were eliminated because they did not post specs on their web site and said,"detailed specs and drawings provided upon request". So it's down to these:
- Enermax 500W (Tomahawk)
- Silverstone 560W (2nd one above)
- Seasonic 500W

I'll be comparing these and then ordering soon.:)

EDIT: well, that was an easy and obvious decision. I needed more than 6 molex connectors, so I just ordered the Seasonic. This should be interesting using something else besides Enermax (all of my present systems have Enermax PSUs). See Ya!

EDIT AGAIN (2-23-10): OK, um, I still haven't switched out the PSUs. I guess I'm waiting for the old PSU to fry my MB and video card.:WTF-Skaarj-get-moving:;)
