Oni Skaarj not only works now, he has a Portrait! Now I need to figure out his Bio, and he will be done.

I tested it with a 30 bot deathmatch.. and it looks just as cool as I hoped it would.. though I learned one very sad lesson.... The millions of tiny details I added.... and compiled, and worked so hard to place on the skin.. will never... ever.. be seen. <laughs> Which is ok, because even from a distance it looks alright... just a slight shame. Learned alot... still learning.. and having a blast doing it. Many thanks to J2a, and everyone else who helped me with this. ^_^

Hmmm, how about a cross-breeding experiment between a Skaarj and a creature from an "unknown dimension". Either by the Liandri Corperation for a more intense Invasion scenario, or by the Skaarj to make a tougher warrior for a new war campaign with the humans.

Id say a genetic cross between a skaarj and one of the male Nightmare creatures (Homosapiens Medusae) the big red ugly things. Fits right into the universe. Glad to see you got it in game. Though I must say that when you wanna make it glow you'll want to use 32 bit TGA's rather than BMPS.

Well.. I think they are 24bit TGA's actually... will that work? I could always re-import them.... going to have to anyways because there are a few final touches I need to work on....

Well, blame it on my having played to much doom recently or not... but I had something like that in mind, his name gives it away. Its not a very good name, because is basicly just a species readoff.. But it works. Oni, is Japanese for Demon, or evil spirit... While Skaarj is... well.. Skaarj. I figure either Liandri or even the Skaarj themselves tampered with some of the demonic genetics recovered during some failed colonization or take over attempt, and boom... evil Super Soldier... I tihnk I'll stick with the Liandri Corp. being the culprait.. because then I can skin his "Siblings".... attempts at crossing the DNA with other lifeforms... Mokai.. Human.. ((Why bother with Nightmares? Thier evil/messed up enough as is. )) ... which might one day lead to a skin pack. ^_^... Would be fun.

I wouldn´t make it .A lot of people prefer .zip´s (me included) , also MAC-User can get problems , because they need an extra tool to install umod´s.

If you want to create umod´s take a look at the Tools-Section . There is a program called Umodwizard for UT2003.Don´t know , if it works for UT2004.

This program is designed to make Unreal Module (*.umod) file generation as quickly and as easily as possible.

Yup take SaD's advice Nalid and just zip it

ppl can have problems with umods and it's okay if it's a major conversion or something but for skins/models zips are better. Plus it's less work for you in the long run

As a Mac user, please use zip. It ain't that hard to put the downloaded .upl and .utx files in the right place. I prefer to know what and where the files have to go.

Will do.... if its what the community prefers, then I'll gladly go the way of the WinZip. Probably be alot easier anyways. I'm going to attempt team colors before I submit it however.

Seeing how he's already red, it shouldn't take long adding blue bits. It's just where that's the problem. Alot of TC just don't look so good. Maybe if you had him splattered in purple blood (like the Bride from Kill Bill) across the upper body and elbow deep, that wouldn't take away from your skin, but look hella-nasty.

I was thinking about messing with the color balances to change the colors needed.. without losing any, or at least mininum detail. Unfortunatly right now, my darling love has comendered my computer to play SWG... since her video card went up in flames a few hours ago. >_o......

Soooooo I can't really modify much of anything until she gets done.

The 32 bit type is needed for the alpha channel. If you give a skin an alpha then save as 24 bit the alpha goes away. its what the other 8 bits are. Its easy enough, after you re-open your tga in photoshop and add in the alpha channel and hit save, it will again prompt you for 24 or 32 bit. Just select the 32 bit option.
