Skaarj look a lot more....powerful, but then again, looking at the definition of Juggarnaut, Gorge should be able to take everything in his path ! ^_^

There are also skaarj called "deathhunters". One projectile does over 1 billion points damage.
And travels 3 times as fast as you can run

The respawning thing is a gameplay element, it's doesn't really happen. Instead I'm sure they get knocked around a lot and then after the match they get medical treatment somewhere.

I don't buy it. Taking a dozen hand sized bits of white-hot shrapnel to the torso != "knocked around". I think it has something to do with cloning. After all, Remus/Romulous' bio mentions something about cloning tanks.
Romulous was created from a cloning tank, wasn't he? Respawning can't be cloning INSTANTLY........or can it?

Well, if you'd ever consider Ut Co-op, get the oldskool mod and stop by 3s monsterhunt. We have some american regulars, it's doable (ping).
You'll need to get some maps, but 3 linked to a site (in the server name) where you can download all necessary mutators/maps.
It's worth it. It's a damn fine co-op server ^_^
Sometimes we play with a certain mutator, which makes monsters spawn out of destroyed barrels, chairs, tables etc..
Also lanters..
Really fun. Small skaarj, but they're quicker and better than the regular ones.
And there's also AKcoop. Enhanced monsters. This really is for veteran players, I don't want to sound 1337 or anything but it is ^_^
You're in for hard games if you play akcoop. And the deathhunter (small skaarj) will own you.
About the respawning thing:
Maybe it's virtual reality and they're all connected to machines.
When they unplug, they go back to their every-day life ;O)
