P90 on slow computers

My PC is pretty slow, so i need to put the player detail on low, the terran detail on low and my resolution on 640x480, when u have these settings + free lag! its very hard to use the p90 cuz u cant see the difference between the cross and a head! Thats why I either use a scope or the MP5...

Also

Every1 compares weapons with the MP5, with other words: every1 tries to make a weapon as good as the MP5. FN did a good job with the P90, but H&K did better....

P90, tho both are good. I'm kinda in love with the P90 at long range tho, switch it to semi and its pretty kick ass.

I've got to go with the MP5. I can go light and sweet, and muck about with full-auto in CQB situations.

However, I am glad about the current FN P90 popularity; if I need a new gun and lots o' ammo, just strip three or four from the corpses laying about! Voila! New loadout on the fly!

Occasionally I make completely irrational decisions based on nothing other then gut feelings.

The MP5 is dead sexy

The P90 looks like a toy.

Of course, both are (roughly) equal in lethality.

In RL, the P90 seems like it ought to be a much more lethal CQB gun in that its so friggin short, light, and can put out more lead faster (pointy shaped, armor-peircing lead at that). In addition, its barrel is actually longer due to the bullpup arrangement, adding to the power of the rounds over the MP5's slightly shorter barrel.

But the MP5 is just dead sexy.

In CS, however, the P90 up close will always beat an MP5. (take that tidbit for what its worth :))

I like them both, the P90 sights are bearable, but not great. For me it boils down to how much mobility I need on the map. A loadout with a P90 and a sidearm is pretty heavy. The MP5 is much lighter. The P90 with the suppressor has VERY high penetration, but if you are gonna take advantage of it you're probably gonna waste some ammo, so you'll want 3 clips, and that's a lot of bulk.

Bottom line:
Very small map or holing up and shooting through stuff: P90
Larger map but predominantly CQB: MP5

Personally I use a P90 now but I still prefer a supressed mp5.

The main reason I use the P90 is ammo capacity. Right now there isn't much teamwork on the public servers. Occasionally you'll get somebody to cover your back but for the most part you're on your own and that means the less reloading you have to do the better. The mp5 really has everything else in it's favor.

The mp5's open iron sights are really accurate once you get used to them and it's not a problem taking out enemies at medium to long ranges with it. Not only that but it doesn't block nearly as much as your view. The mp5 also seems to kill faster. I know both require only 3 hits but for some reason the mp5 feels stronger.

I think once there is more teamwork and you have somebody to cover your back while you reload more people will switch back to the mp5.

BTW, the supressed p90 already uses the subsonic rounds. Also, the P90 currently has bugged penetration. At LEAST 32 units of penetration which is about 3 times a robar already, and that's a minimum value too I never tested over 32 units so I don't really know how high it goes.

Those are some really interesting numbers, SoSilencer. How does one measure the penetration value of a weapon, and what do these units translate to in game? Will the P90 shoot through the plane lengthwise on EP? Through both walls on a large cargo crate like those seen on EP and Dockside?

The P90 only has badass penetration with the suppressor on, which kinda doesn't make sense. Although I don't think it's better than the Robar, I better check this out.

Wow, the P90 with Suppressor does penetrate better than the Robar. That's probably just a tad bit WRONG.

Well I first heard about the p90 penetration bug on the forums from a team member, though I didn't think much of it at the time and forgot where it was. So the other day I was testing a map of mine when I started shooting the p90 around to test the collision of a certain object. I noticed, quite to my suprise, that the bullets had passed through a 16 unit thick wall. Not only that but they had passed through TWO 16 unit thick walls.

I haven't opened the editor to check but the shipping containers on dockside that you can enter but I'd guess the walls on those things are roughly 4-8 units thick.

SoSilencer, I do penetration tests on DM-INF-Nananima.

Go under the stairs on the ground floor of the house. If you shoot up with the suppressed P90, you can shoot through the landing, one flight of stairs, and the floor of the top level of the house, the bullets imbed in the roof. The robar was unable to get through the floor of the top level.
